Default Mod Chips -- XBox :)

Ok well ive hear a fair amound of info about mod chips for the xbox and how they work but theres two things im cought up on, theres two different things people say mod chips do,
1- some people say they save any game on the hardrive after u play it (good for renting games etc.)
2- Makes it so u can play burnt games, not so sure lol

well lets discuss this because if anyone knows stuff share ur knownledge!

I believe they can do both, burn a disc image to the hard-drive AND enable burnt games to be play-able.

I soft modded my xbox and it allows you to play burnt xbox games and dvds. You can also play Roms and Emulators on it. I download my games off of bittorrent and burn it to dvd and its works perfectly and also loads faster then regular xbox games. Dont buy a mod chip go to gamestop buy a limited edition of splinter cell the first one for 2 bucks and buy a memory card that can go inside the pc for 30 bucks google that for the name i forgot. Then download a bugged splinter cell file and load it up and its modded. Google soft modding with splinter cell bug. Its alot easier and free the mod chips.

Yeah, i soft modded my Xbox a while ago and it was hella fun on Halo 2

I did look into mod chips back then, and they did sound good, but too confusing, a lot of money, and other stuff. Depends on what you want to do i guess. I just modded my xbox to mod halo 2 and it worked great using action replay linux and mechassult or splinter cell.

That does sound cool if a mod chip can save games and stuff and if it can, I say go with one. But you need to take apart your xbox and sometimes weld them in but idk.

If you do it, I hope you don't want to play XBL because if they find a modded box they will ban you >.<

You dont mod on your main account, I modded on 2 month free people, and even when they are banned, you can still play them, just not in matchmaking(for halo 2). Look into how the mod chip workds and stuff before buying, its stupid to buy it and whne you get it think "hmmm, this makes no sense" lol. My frieds had to replaqce his xbox since when he modded it, he had no idea what he was doing.

Dang it..I modded my Xbox for $400. Basically, you can save games on it along with playing burnt games...Emulators and stuff are all bonuses, lame games...

Don't buy a chip. Softmod with an evox dashboard and your setup. For tutorials go to www.xbox-scene.com

EDIT: If you need any help pm me. I have modded 3 xboxs and 2 PS2's. Just rent games and use like Qwix to make an iso then burn it to a dvd and include the default.xbe. You need to ftp into your xbox.

I don't recommend softmods. There's a higher change of getting problems and discs not working correctly. When the dashboard needs to be updated, bye bye softmod and hello malfunctioning xbox. Same for installing a bigger hd in your xbox.
I modded my xbox with a Xecutor2 chip (only costs €35,- here) and no problems at all, I have a modded PS2 with the first Messiah chip too, thing is five years old and still working fine
I made a new script, check it out!.

I modded my xbox 360,PS2,Xbox 1, and getting ready to mod my Wii
They are worth it. Oh and by the way When the ban you from XBL they ban your console's EEPROM so having different accounts dosnt help.

I'd get a modchip rather than softmodding the xbox. If you do mess up your xbox with the softmod, it's harder to fix than a hardmodded xbox. You can save games to the harddrive but theres not much space to do so since its only 8gb so I'd just burn the games instead unless you want to add a larger hard drive. You can also get solderless mod chips which are pretty easy to install and aren't that expensive. Also, you could just disable the modchip to boot the ms dash using regular bios for xbl. I'd just torrent games by leaving on your computer over night and it should be done the next day.
