Default How do you all train magic?

    Hi all,

I am looking for a cost effective way to train my magic level up that doesn't level up at a turtles pace.

I am tossing up between alching (if I can find something viable to alch), or I am looking for another training method.

Any advice is appreciated as always

Doesn't everyone just afk splash train? Hell, it doesn't even require a script.

Is very slow though unless you spend the coin. 13.9kxp/hr doing mind.

Also have to do it on pvp worlds to avoid log out, and there are ways for pkers to interrupt the splash cycle and kill you

Pretty sure stun-alching like rj said is the #1 method on OSR

On RS3, it's folly to train magic using any method except combat

Oo stunning could be the way to go. Alching is just too expensive at the moment lol. Priced it at 14m to get from 88 to 94 mage :s

Superglass Make - fairly slow XP but profitable
Superheating Steel - last time I checked this is fairly cost friendly
Tan Leather - high reqs but very profitable. Downsides are G.E limit and needing lots of cash to bot for several hours

Personally I have cash to blow so I'm superheating gold with gauntlets to knock out two 99s with one stone.

Cost is a problem though. Most items lose like 250gp per alch or there abouts, which is like 30.5m from 88 to 94 lol.

From what i remember high alch is free? i used to train with green dhide body's and break even

EDIT: you can check this webpage for some info, nat runes are expensive AF currently so you'll probably loose money with everything that has higher tan 100 GE Limit. http://www.scape-xp.com/runescape-high-alchemy.html

Superheat Rune bars. Rune ores are 9.4k ea, Coal is 367 ea *8 = 2.9k + 1 nat 390 ea = 12.7k. Rune bars go for 13.7 k. 1k profit each and 52.5 magic xp as bonus.

Ooo that's an expensive but nice idea.

Are the bars hard to sell though?

At this moment, super-heating steel bars breaks even; no gain, no loss.
    • Nature rune: 310
    • Iron ore: 153
    • Coal: 194 (*2 = 388)

Total = 851, and a steel bar sells for 852.

    Super-heating iron:
    • Iron ore: 153
    • Nature rune: 310

Total = 463, and an iron bar sells for 378. So you take a loss here, but a higher XP per/hour rate. I'd also recommend using AeroMagicPro, but that's just personal preference.

    Current projects:
[ AeroGuardians (GotR minigame), Motherlode Miner, Blast furnace ]

I like that idea. Half the cost of alching and you are training 2 skills at once. Might do that
