Just browsing Reddit as normal and stumbled upon this: https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/commen...4/slug/d0kp9r5

He states that he used SCAR for Runescape Macroing.

Was Andrew Sampson was apart of this community?

Not OP, but I was born in the mid-90s and I've been programming since I was 12 or so. I watched a documentary on Google's HQ, and said "man it'd be cool to work there". So I googled "how to do programming" and the first result was C++. So I did that. Now I'm in university for computer engineering, and I'm way better at it than I was then.

hopefully fucking so. Did that even need saying? Holy...

"I see you did very well in university for computer engineering, but grades aren't everything... In your own words, what would you say you learned in those years?"
"Well I'm way better at C++ than I was when I started programming at 12."
"Mr Legerity... I see a very bright future for you."
Laughed a little too hard at this.

Not at all surprised. The RS scene is very unique in terms of breadth and programming opportunity.

There's a member here with "RS is a conspiracy to inspire new programmers!" in his signature. There's a pretty good case to be made for that

    Ahh, CodeUSA.

This dude is very fishy. I used to play one of his RSPS's back when I was like 12. IIRC He faked having Cancer to get donations in, and then later I believe he tried to give out some malware with his RSPS. At least AVAST instantly flagged his website and jar, I stopped playing overall at that point.

He also showed up in the RiD chatbox long ago bragging that he cracked RiD's bots and tried to get people to download it, which of course it was a virus. He thought the Ivy Cutter bot was a full AIO Woodcutter, and that he cracked it and gave out links. It was the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

    Well...

    1. A lot of antivirus software will mark any executable Java archive (JAR file) as malicious. They don't bother scanning it, just say "Executable Java applet? Connects to the Internet? Must be a virus!"

    2. A guy who went by the name of Lil Str Kid did crack RiD a long time ago and it worked beautifully, I used it myself. What you're talking about probably isn't that though, because faking "cracked" versions of popular macro software is a very common method for distributing malware.

    1. You're right. However Avast wasn't doing this before hand, and it was outright flagging his main webpage. Not the webclient. I had been playing his RSPS for something like a month, the only warning I got was from Java itself. Avast didn't have an issue with it.

    2. There's a difference though. CodeUSA / Andy (I even talked to him after he got perm banned on Skype afterwards) claimed he cracked RiD's woodcutter, he even said he was using it right then and now to bot magic logs.. when RiD doesn't have a woodcutter, only an Ivy Cutter. It was clear he was spitting shit.

I haven't seen anything about his, I think he claimed it was Liver Cancer, in his AMA. And even at the time reading it on his RSPS Forums I thought it smelled fishy.

This is just my experience with Andy, I will say though he had a pretty cool RSPS, and he seemed very smart.

Yeah that sounds weird, especially since iirc RiD didn't have individual scripts back then, it was a single stand-alone application with multiple scripts built in

Didn't code USA create allstarscape? In otherwords the most common RSPS sources in ~2006-2007 was pretty buggy

I'm not sure, I didn't get into RSPS's till around 2010-2011. Even then I just played them. I never really dove into the RSPS scene. But I did hear he had something like a high-demand source?

He stated that he was never apart of SRL, but was on kaitnieks. Pretty cool stuff.
