Hi, does anyone know any kid friendly games? Recently I've been playing Overwatch and I think it is fun. I might be interested in mostly First Person Shooters but I don't know.

I'll see if I can find a copy and an emulator. I purchased Volgarr the Viking, and it's pretty good. If you look at the screenshots there's lots of levels though, I've only made it to the second. I'm not very clever.

Is this for you, or an actual child?

Overwatch is a great game to play.
Another FPS game you should check out is RUST. Not sure how simple it is to learn (have been playing it for a while now), but it is a lot of fun once you get the hand of it. Simple in the way that you walk up to a tree and hit it with a rock to gather wood, run up to a ore deposit and hit it with your rock to get stone, metal ore etc, then build your home and start to gather food.
Another simple game (IMO) is the Battlefield series (4 and 1 are the most played). They are team based, but it is a matter of finding a gun you like, point and fire (while capturing objectives ofc )

BF is great for team play. Just need to move between squads until you find people that use their mic.
Rust is fantastic, but if you are going to play it, find some friends to play with. It can be a very unforgiving game when you play solo, and everyone online is hostile towards you, even if you haven't wronged them.
Anybody have suggestions for short games? An Overwatch match might take 20mins to half an hour or more.

Counter strike global offensive. Short games.
I purchased the Dark Souls games and started playing Dark Souls 3. They are kind of scary. I don't think I'll return them but I might have to wait until I am older to play them.
There's a lot of games which make it very clear that they are being leased to you - this feels very strange.
Simply because you "own" the game doesn't mean you have the rights to the media that was used to create it, so I'm not really sure what leasing the game really gains the creator.

tf2 is a pretty kid friendly fps, similar in concept to overwatch but with lower graphics & a more casual community.
Some games that I've played and enjoyed outside of first person shooters are:
rimworld
warband
kingdom
All of these games are rated pretty highly on steam but are low on graphics. The only game in that list that I'd consider "kid friendly" (if I understand what that means..) would be kingdom, & it gets boring pretty quickly imo. The music was really nice though! & I enjoyed it enough for a few playthroughs.
Since no-one has recommended it so far. You should def try Runescape.
Orcs Must Die! 2 is pretty fun and the games don't take very long.
I played a ton of TF2 from 2007-2009. It's probably still a great game.
TF2 is free to play now.
Okay! I'll look at TF2. I tried playing RuneScape again but it had changed a lot. I tried to use Simba to make a bot but didn't have much luck as nothing seemed to work.

I am a league of legends fan myself but the matches take 25-45 minutes or so, so it's maybe not what you're looking for.
Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR) is the best game I've ever played if you're looking for something on the MMORPG side of things. I highly recommend it, it's the only online game other than LOL since RS that I've actually thoroughly enjoyed. Make sure to subscribe though, the one bad part is that the F2P restrictions there make Jagex look like a benevolent company.
Okay! I really like Star Wars. Hopedully the game is really fun. Similar to League of Legends and maybe Overwatch I have to be careful about the amoint of time spent.
It's not so much I have other things to do but I find it hard to sit down and play something nonstop for hours. I usually take a few breaks to do some programming or reading. That's why I like indie games so much.

So I found out there were new Tekken games, going up to Tekken 7.
Does anybody know any flash based fighting or shooting games? I remember there being a few, but don't remember which ones were good. Some of them were multiplayer.
