Default Does having a beard make people unconciously treat you with more respect?

I recently my first beard and I've noticed that people treat me differently than they did back when I was clean shaven. I've also noticed that I feel more confident and at ease than I did before. I can't really think of anything that's changed about me to account for these differences other than the beard. I'm sexually more potent which is surprising considering my level of performance prior to having a beard but sadly that is a double edged sword since my girlfriend is a lot busier than I'd like lately. Feel free to mention anything that remotely pertains to beards in any way as I would like to hear your beard opinions.

Maybe it's subconscious. You feel more manly, so you become more manly.

I've heard girls hate the roughness/scratchiness. Just a heads up.

People usually treat you with more respect because you look older, and most people think the older, the wiser.

    But chicks hate beards.

I guess I'm lucky that my girl actually likes how the beard feels against her.

You sound like a twelve to sixteen year old trying to sound manly, if not eight.

Did you grow it out? I think most people suspect or assume you're older if you grow your beard out. Younger people with beards usually only get stubbles and then shave.

About women: It depends if you grow it out. Some people have soft beards.
The jealous temper of mankind, ever more disposed to censure than
to praise the work of others, has constantly made the pursuit of new
methods and systems no less perilous than the search after unknown
    lands and seas.

Haha. That entire thing sounded so wrong.

Anyway, 4TildeMan, he's a Freshman in college playing College Football as a Guard(?). I know he's a lineman, just don't know what position on the line. He may have said a Tackle.

Barber's guide to men's facial hair styles, circa 1900.

Chin Curtain. Second from the bottom row and second one in from the right. My beard makes me look so Amish. I think that we should all grow old style beards such as the ones depicted in this chart and bring back the old styles.

It isnt the beard like everyones saying its the difference in age that it makes you look. I have alot of native american in me as I live in Tennesee. Pretty much my entire family tree has native american lineage so I look young for my age to an extreme.

Bad thing is I cant grow a beard. I dont grow anything but a mustache and hair on my chin and that takes months. Im 28 years old and look like I am 17 and thats no lie. I get carded for cigarettes at 28 years old. And yes people treat me like a kid even though I spent 6 years in the army and 3 of them as a non commisioned officer (seargent) Its even hard for me to get a job because I look so young compared to my 10 year job history.

Be fortunate you look older with a beard thats really all it is.
