HOW TO MAKE RS AND SCAR LAG LESS! - BY jbrauman
By following the steps in this tutorial, you will make Runescape lag less when Scar is running. When Scar is running, especially when it moves the mouse and does complex calculations, Runescape lags considerably on older machines (even on newer machines). To fix this problem, and have dramatically improved performance, follow these steps.
- Download The Client
Go to the Runescape Homepage. In the list to the left hand side of the screen, click the 'downloads' section. Download this to your desktop.- Put The Client In Your Main Hard Drive
Make sure the client is called 'runescape.exe' - ALL LOWER CASE!
Put this in the root of your harddrive i.e 'C:\runescape.exe'. You can make this file hidden if you prefer.- Make The Shortcut
Go to your desktop, right click anywhere on it and select 'New Shortcut'. For the location of the item, copy and paste this into it:
%windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c start /realtime C:\runescape.exe
Where 'C:\' is the name of your hard drive.
Click next, and put 'Runescape' as the shortcut name.
Then click finish.
Now, right click on the shortcut you just created and select properties. Select
'Change Icon' and browse to you find Runescape.exe in your hard drive. In the popup box, double click the Runescape Icon (the only icon). Click
ok a couple of times, and your done! You can now use your new Runescape icon.
What did this do?
By following these steps, what you just did was make it so whenever you open the Runescape Client, it opens in the highest priority available ('Realtime'). This makes sure that the computer focus's the most on the Runescape client. This will (hopefully) prevent as lag, or at least reduce it.
