Default Not Aloud on the Computer?

Ok, my dad told me today that he is going to install software or some program that will only let me on the computer for 2 hours a day, minus however much my brother goes on. Considering my brother is more of a computer addict than me, that means I will get around 30 Minutes or so computer time a day, so, no autoing, no SCARing, no anything. Does anyone know what I might be able to do to get on more? I dont know if I will be able to go 2 months/the rest of my life without computer for more than 30 minutes. Even two hours is small, But I guess if I cut out autoing completely, I would be able to make it. I still want to be active in this community, but with this time restriction, I might not be anymore... I want my computer time, and I want my autoing time, but 2 hours MAX a day is going to ruin those plans... . As I have asked above.. Does anybody know how to save my life/ computer life?????

Download and burn a linux livecd; it won't let you auto, but atleast it will let you get online. (I recommend knoppix)

Umm, I am not sure but i have seen some of the programs that limit computer usage during the day and all you have to do is boot into safe mode and login as administrator (usually no password) and you are good. Although it is safe mode.

Otherwise i would say live CD is the way to go.

Or you could tell us the program that is being used and someone here might be able to bypass it.

Oh also there is another way to bypass it if it is a program that starts when windows starts. When you get onto the computer go into run and type msconfig and go to startup tab(i think) and uncheck the program to not start on windows start. That should work also.

Umm, wrong. Depending on what the software is, he might not be able to. For example, try ending all your AVP process while not in safe mode. It protects itself, like other system processes. What you might need to do is to find a way to securely delete it from the system, either by gaining admin access and uninstalling, or through some other method. If you want to know more about this, PM me. I'll find a way for you. Been doing this for years now.

Edit: When my dad installs it, i will tell everyone what program it is, and im sure someone will help me out.

    Options:

    1. Go to a friends house and sleep over They might let you on their computer if you teach them some "complex" scripting in scar.

    2. Go to the library. It might not have scar on it but you will have time to be here with us

    3. Ask your dad 'calmly' why he is doing this... Then tell him 'calmly' your point of needing the computer.... He might undersand and loosen the restriction over time.

    4. Get a job...And buy your own computer.

    5. Cry.....

Hope these help, including number 5 ,

@Option 1: He can't sleep over every week, much less every day.

@Option 2: Libraries have about the same time restrictions as he will have.

@Option 3: I think his dad does it no matter what the point is.

@Option 4: Viable, yet I feel as though his dad won't be happy, as it seems as though his dad is limiting time on A computer, not THE computer.

    @Option 5: Umm, ok?

Not to bash you, but just a friendly response.

Oh right. I forgot I screwed with something (forget what, I do that all the time ) to allow me to end any non-essential process.

Hmm, I don't know what you did, but yeah, usually, it won't let you end the stupid stuff.

Assuming that the program doesn't embed itself into your system.

I once had a parental control software that embedded itself into your system; When I tried to kill it, it also killed the system.

Also, some software lists itself as a service (services tab in msconfig). Sort the list by Manufacturer, then look for anything with the software creator's name on it

Be careful; if the software is embedded strongly, it'll kill your system

    Uninstall the program?

Check your program files and just flat out delete it, OR go to Start ->> Ctrl Panel ->> Add/Remove Programs ->> The rest is self-explanatory.

Let's hope my dad doesn't hear about this program.

EDIT: Rule #1 - Never talk about something you know nothing about (in bold).

I'll leave it up so you guys can laugh at me.

Tell him to buy that, and if you and your bro are different users, set times for both of you guys?

if your not admin... start in safe mode.. then there should be an account named Administrator and then go to the ctrl panel and delete the thing... or open the program and edit how long you can stay on. But then your dad would get suspicious of you being on forever agina.. so idk...

You have a point. Then again, if his dad needs that software, then he's probably not there to tell him to get off.

well, normally, the ways these work is. The person installing sets a password, and they can set a password or account to a time limit. there for, it will be running in task bar, then all you gotta do is, get your dad's pass, enter it in, and BAM! your in :P

Yeah, download a personal keylogger. Not a keylogger that sends that data to a server, a one that is hidden that you can view later to get your dad's password

If it was only that easy.

That gives me an idea. Why don't you get an undetectable keylogger (I got one if you need it), then when he installs it, you'll know the password. Then just enter that in, as J_F says.

    EDIT: Yup, hy said it.

That's probably one of the easiest solutions here

    Good thinking!

Set up a keylogger before he installs it (either ron's or kane's keylogger should do fine)

Just incase, make a .bat file with this in it:

    [code]C:/Program Files/SCAR 3.06.exe -nonews -open Keylogger.scar -run[/scar]

And drag it to Start/All Programs/Startup

Then, customize keylogger.scar (or w/e you decide to call it), to hide itself as soon as it's started, with all the options preset (another recommendation: don't name it anything to do with keylogger; also take out any comments that mention keylogger. Name it something like 'RandomWallpaper' then make some fake procedures like Init, and Rotate, etc))

EDIT: Ack! Got beaten to it by two people!

Uhh, SCAR's keylogger isn't too great, as SCAR itself can be ended easily. I'll send you a local keylogger (one that'll only put logs into the C drive), it'll be better. And if you suspect me, put a firewall up, then block all outgoing connections.
