    Default scar using huge memory...

after running scar for a few hours my memory in the task manger was 1662m/2248m after i quit scar it became 448m/2048m, is it normal for it to take so much memory?

It depends on the script you are running, i think there is a nasty bug in it, like loading a picture again, while not freeing the otherone..

no it was i script i wrote myself and it has no dtm's or bitmapskn it. i was testing it so i had to run/compile many times. i noticed though that scar lags a lot if you have a code hint popped up with srl included, maybe that has somehting to do with it?

advanced scripts like wizzup ess miner lags VMware. but when i use it on my regular computer, i dont feel it lagging. i think its certain types of scripts that create the lag.

    Post the script?

Scripts that don't have many waits, that have many bitmaps or dtms (especially rotated and deformed!), or a lot of math tend to lag, but only bitmaps can make that big a memory leak.

Most likely, it's a SCAR memory leak (about which we can do little); but we'd have to see the script to be sure.

I get the same problem. Like last night, I tried to run Wizzup's ess miner overnight, and when i woke up this morning, SCAR gave me a "memory could not be read error" or something like that. And when i looked at the task manager, it say scar was taking up 80k memory! :O. Freddy said he fixed the memory leaks, but now im not so sure...

lol are you sure it was just scar you closed or did you have like runescape up with other programs running in background and closed them all at one time?

Freddy said he fixed as many memory leaks as he could find. That doesn't mean that SCAR's perfect now.

Expo, I don't think theres any need for upgrade if
    1. I have very little programs
    2. Scar's lag can be countered, in other ways
    3. Its extremely unessary

ALso, The WIN XP Disk Defrag Is pretty uneffecive I use Smartdefrag which defrags everyday...

Yep. Same problem. After running SCAR on my computer for about 2 hours, my RAM is screwed...
