Default So, I just had blood drawn (for tests) for the first time in 10 years...

The last time I had blood taken for tests I was a little kid. This morning, I went to a Quest lab and had three of those test tubes of blood taken out. After it, I started feeling nauseous (almost threw up) and then I nearly passed out (everything whited out and looked like it was in 8bit colors).

Anyways, then I peed in a little cup.

Are you sure its safe if you almost passed out? Like is that supposed to happen? I havent had blood tests since i had pneumonia(sp?) 12 years ago. (I'm 14 btw)

I guess. I think it was because I was sitting up when they took it. Afterwards I just lied down and felt alot better. My mom said my lips turned blue

My bro weights as much as I do (same height too) and he gets the same amount of blood drawn every month for his super strong acne medication. He does fine.

Completely depends on the person. Some people faint when they have blood drawn, some don't. Its not uncommon at all, so don't worry about it.

I worked with a doctor for 1 month and saw thousands of blood tests, and even got to do some myself. This 1 man had his blood draw, stood up, fainted and took out half the surgery room with him (He was a big guy, mind you)...

I had blood drawn every 3-4 months for 7 years. But I remember my first time too and boy was I scared... A big lady come walking towards me with a needle and some test tubes. All she sad was "This will feel like an ant bite...". She started to put the needle in when I yelped "Ow, thats one big ant!".
Other times after that I would have a nurse that would obliviously be an intern and she tried to get the vein 4-5 times. Also like in you experience I have passed out because of a nurses error to not close the tube that connects the needle to the test tube, and I bleed out for about 5 seconds. Which was just enough to fall of the table I was sitting on and wake up in a dark room with cookies.

Now I don't need them to take my blood because I feel that it is unnecessary.

    Thats my story

The only time I can ever remember getting blood drawn was when they tested my blood sugar level or something like that and all they did was prick my finger, and it hurt. I can imagine what it must have felt like to get a needle in your arm. Ow.
