Default Cain and Abel - Cannot Enumerate Users

So I'm testing Cain and Abel out on our network here, but I'm unable to get it to enumerate users.

Has anyone else ever gotten this error? If it means anything, we do have McAfee Wireless Security installed.

I probably haven't given you all enough information. That's because I don't know what information to give. Just ask me anything, I'll try to answer.

    Please help, if you can

    -Mike

    Sorry for wasting bandwidth, but

Caine and Able? Isn't Able the guy that got murdered? The FIRST FIRKKEN MURDER IN THE WORLD? . Ohh Emm Gee!
The jealous temper of mankind, ever more disposed to censure than
to praise the work of others, has constantly made the pursuit of new
methods and systems no less perilous than the search after unknown
    lands and seas.

Great program, very expensive tho. Did you shell out for the adapter?? I dont really use it, i use linux when hacking.

Edit: if you didnt get the adapter i doubt it'd work. Windows doesnt like wifi cards in moniter mode....

Cain and Abel is free, actually. You can download it here:

And what do you mean? You're saying it wont work well with a wireless connection?

Takes special drivers to do much with wireless.

I was informed that, in order to sniff wireless packets, you need custom drivers that may or may not be available for your network card.

Generally el cheapo adapters wont allow you to just sit there and start grabbing info from in the air.

    That makes sense

Should I need any special drivers for this? I haven't read anything about it, and I'm only trying to do something on my own network.

Yes, if you use Windows you need different drivers. And those may or may not be available, depending on your wireless card. If you use Linux, you just need a different firmware, which is available for more wireless cards than in windows.

That's why, when haxing using the aircrack-ng attack suite, I use Linux. Cause sometimes I try hacking my own wireless, because I forget the key and I can't be bothered to change it .

    It's been a while... but I'm BACK!!!
