SRL-Forums recently broke 30,000 registered members.

I am completely against going Private and getting rid of leechers...
Going Private would really put a strain on the money from the Google Adds, and it would also slowly get rid of many people, as we are people we commonly like and then later dislike things. Well If too many of us Dislike this and then SRL has trouble getting up to date after a big update then this community will slowly become extint, I don't mind leechers being here because they might tell friends who might want to script... Meaning maybe the next SRL dev or leader... Catch my dift?

The leechers aren't the problem, the 'family' feeling IS the problem imo. Were getting big, so we need to become a community again. Scripts are made, without people mentioning them. The solution is, in my opinion, move the 'good' scripts to member and clean the members. This gives the members a special feeling and forces the leechers to learn scar.

The only problem with going semi-private with invite codes is that there probably would be a black market for them. Which would drag the noobs here again. I mean people pay for demonoid codes. Why wouldn't they for SRL forums?

Hermpie, $100 is quite steep. Maybe if they want to get in without an invite code they could pay a fee like $10 and get in.

Hmm, maybe delete all accounts with below 40-50 posts and 0% activity, before we do the Semi-private thing to make sure we don't have a lot of leechers getting invite codes. Also you could incorporate something where you had to have a certain activity or amount of posts before you get a invite code. Not sure about that, but its just an idea.

And would we make the SRL include itself semi-private as well?

i just ignore the pointless posts, which i think is all that needs to be done. if u make it semi-private then u might shun a future dev away(said before). Plus the decision really depends on dank doesnt it?

i agree with that, i think the only thing to do to limit the leechers is move scripts to members (only the scripts that were written by members of course(and not all of them)) then the nonmembers can re populate the catagories that were taken away from, and become members themselves.

actually thats not the only thing, but its probly the eassiest

Congratulations to the SRL-Forums - we're at 30,000 members now. The RS + SCAR + SRL cheating community is running strong and well - lets hope it stays that way and convert more Leechers --> Scripters.

Im no expert but i think it will it will be like 100 leechers to 1 scripter soon

But this site is a community ce. If it werent for leechers who realized leeching isn't righteous(like me)this place would be cold hardless place with noone to help the people with green names, people with green names make other peole with green names feel welcome, people with yellow names are slightly intimidating and people with red names are worshiped.
And how would leechers cross examine scripts, take bits and peices from diff scripts, change them around a little and make über scripts if the good working scripts went private!!!

As of now, I would be considered a leecher, i download scripts and don't post feedback, because I'm not running them(most don't work atm anyway) But what I do is look over those scripts and use then as examples for a script I'm writing(so far walking is flaky, and I haven't gotten to antiban/randoms yet). I wouldn't mind the great scripts being moved to members, but at least keep the manual current and have some good tutorials(we have them, but not necessarily current again). I am aware that would be hard to do given the beta state of SRL atm but for leechers to become scripters they need examples (scripts or guides or manuals), scripts may be abused but they are needed.

Or move scripts made by members to the members section? But that would sort of tear the community in two.

OFFTOPIC: Legend, will you ever apply for membership? Not that there's anything special with being a member (just a few new forums(all SRL-talk and stuff) and some cool scripts)
