    Well your 2gigs helps...

The main thing that limits the speed of VMs is processor speed. What is your CPU speed?

One thing is almost certain. Installing XP full will not improve speed. I have never heard of mini XP. I use tinyXP on my VM. It is much smaller than full XP. Works for me.

You could try it if you want.

Ultimately it is just CPU power. Because it using color, DTM, and bitmap, finding routines SCAR really uses CPU.
These are my principles. If you don't like them, well... I have others.

Since brevity is the soul of wit, I will be brief. Auto Correctly.

Try disabling the soundcard on your VM.

I was lagging like hell with VM on my laptop, what do you espect with only 512 Ram total. But then i disabled the soundcard on the VM figuring i wouldn't need it anyway, and since them i'm lagfree.
