How To Fix The "could not move plugins error"

Well if you are running windows vista and you downloaded the SVN and SCAR 3.12 correctly, you get this error. Could not move plugins or something like that.

Well to fix this error try this:

Go to C:Program Files.

Search for SCAR 3.11 or any other version of it.

Now right click on it and put delete.

A message will appear if you want to delete it or not.

Put yes to all. If you have SRL4beta you have to delete it.

Also if you have other SRL versions its better to delete them.

After you did all of that restart your comp(for better results).

Now open up SCAR 3.12/tools/options/SRL download and click check out. It should work now.

Please post and tell me results.

also 'run as administrator' worked for me when that happened, so that should be a good thing to try before all that drastic work. but then again, i havent been able to run a script properly since SRL 4, so i might try that

My error is the same error this thread is about no screeny to post .. it's pretty cut and dry: every time I try to click "checkout" to update SRL I get the error you posted about.

Could it be that I don't have another version of SRL installed right now for it to update?

I just manually installed SRL 4 Beta to see if that helps .. it doesn't.

Sure First I downloaded and installed Subversion from here:

Then I downloaded SCAR 3.12 from Freddy's site:

I installed SCAR 3.12. Then I used the following tutorial:

I can select "subversion repository" and then I can select "checkout." The DOS window pops up, but stays black and blank .. then I get the following error:

"Couldn't move the plugins from the SRL folder to the plugins folder"

THINGS I HAVE TRIED ON MY OWN TO FIX IT:

1. I deleted EVERY version of SCAR I had on my computer
2. I deleted SCAR 3.12 and reinstalled it
3. I deleted Subversion and reinstalled it
4. I am the Administrator
5. I tried manually installing SRL 4 Beta

I am running Microsoft Windows .. I have never had a problem using SCAR, or SRL.

EDIT: amagad .. it worked! it worked! Well, at least it is starting to work Yesterday I did a search on my computer to find anything related to SCAR .. deleted it .. ran Registry Mechanic and a few other utilities .. and then reset the computer.

EDIT EDIT: AGH! Okay .. it starts to work .. it stops on antirandoms\frog.scar .. nothing else downloads .. and then I get the plugin error.

Ok listen up closely please. Open up search for files or w/e and search for SCAR. Anything that comes out that says scar DELETE it. Aight now also, just because you uninstalled SCAR the include files do not go. So you have to make sure you deleted them. 3rd of all delete any srl version up to 4 beta from your desktop.

Okay .. King, I figured out my problem: when I was trying to download the new SRL (AFTER I cleaned my hard drive of anything else SCAR-related) .. I was remoting in to my PC. Once I got home and tried there - no problems .. 100% downloaded. Thanks for you help hun!

Chulo .. how are you connected to the internet? I found that being on wireless made it difficult for me because our wireless sucks here - connection DOES make a difference when using this means of downloading SRL.

I had to turn off everything (yes, including my anti-virus) that connected to the internet and shut down my other laptop to get everything to download and install. When I updated to SRL 5 yesterday it gave me hassle again .. I would shut something down, try again. Shut something else down, try again. Finally after shutting EVERYTHING down (the last one was my darn antivirus) it worked.

(and no - you do NOT need to disable your antivirus to run SCAR .. I did it purely because Kaspersky maintains constant connection to the internet and I needed those packets for SRL)

Try this and see if it works for you

I did get that error. But this is the first time I ever download Scar and the RVN. I just clicked 'Run as Administrator' and it compiled just fine.

Right click on your version of scar (Scar 3.13, 3.12)
Then click "run as administrator"
