Sounds a little crazy...
and very time consuming.
well thought out
fastest way is to merch coal, and then use the money you make to purchase iron and more coal...
hum...you shoudl post a script that can mine and bank aside from that, very good!
very nice. i've also found that if you don't mind wasting natures and have a high enough mage level then you can also superheat iron ore and the outcome it an iron bar 100% of the time! great tut though
umm... im a noob but i find the fastest way to get smithing up is crafting guants and bank/mine gold ores :\ it works great and its not to slow
i had a real account a little while back that I didn't macro on. I was particularly interested in raising my smithing and found after some investigation that the blast furnace was the only way to do it quickly. (I got my smithing up to 84 - no macroing - and yes it was dull)
What you need is
1. Some cash - bout 100K
2. A lot of nats (55 mage for high alching)
What you do is
1. Buy ore from Dwarf near furnace and put into furnace
2. Make mith or steel bars - it doesn't really matter which
3. Make the bars into plates.
4. Alch the plates and start again.
Note - the money you get from alching your plates covers your cost for the ore (give or take) so your 100k should stay fairly constant. Your nats will decrease but you will just have to buy them or something.
The only thing is that I think that this would be pretty hard to macro - but it is I would say about 5 times faster smithing xp than anything else.

'm sorry but i don't see how your 100k stays constant...
if you try to make steel bars here is your payout:
buy iron ore 18 (lowest) and 2 coal 49 (lowest) (18 + 49(2) = 116)
now we find out how many steel bars we'll be able to make with 100k (100,000 / 116 = roughly 862)
if we bought 2 coal and 1 iron for 116 and steel bars high alch for only 60 gp then we are left with 51720gp (862 x 60)
so you are smelting at nearly a 50% loss
as for mith we get this:
we buy mith bars at 242 and 2 coal at 49 (lowest) (242 + 49(2) = 340)
now how many mith bars? (100,000 / 340 = roughly 294)
high alch 294 mith bars for 97 gp ea and we get (294 x 97 = 28518)
me personally i like making mith bars and selling them for around 1k - 1.3k and steel bars i use to raise my smithing or sell for 600 ea
using my method this is your payout:
steel:
862 x 600 = 517,200 gp over 500% profit
mith:
294 x 1.3 = 382,200 gp over 380% profit
i don't agree that you can raise your smelting like this with a constant flow of money but it is a good way to make it! nice job anyway!

Right now I have my mules getting their stats up and getting a few good F2P quests done so that I can gather the xp from that too. Right now I'm still using them to get F2P Ess as well for the smithing lvls. My main is 78 smithing so i have a good start on it anyways. But this is great. I started out using Jukka's guild miner on my main, but that made me nervous, so I stopped doing that. I would sit in front of the computer watching him mine, hell if i'm gonna do that I'll just put my hand on the mouse and get going. lmao. Thanks again for the tip though.

Eh did you ever try smelting iron ores? Its impossible to get more then 20 bars if ure ftp.
Faith is an oasis in the heart which will never be reached by the caravan of thinking.
Thats almost ok... but it will take almost 1.8 years to get your lvl 99 smithing.
tckaile,
You missed a little of the point - i didn't make myself fully clear.
There are anvils in the blast furnace. You make your bars into plates and alch those. - You don't alch the bars.
1200- steel plate
3600ish - mith plate
