    remote access software??

    well i really want some remote access software like the thing built in to xp professional but i like my media center so im not going to switch to professional so i was wondering if there is any good software that runs in the background and you can just type something in on any computer in the world and boom theres you're desktop and also i kinda want something that like nothing pops up on the screen so like if im running scar on that puter it wont bloke anything

    any iders?

    if you cant understand what im saying i can clarify

    Well, I don't really know much about computers but maybe a portable hard drive would work? Just have everything on there, get on another computer, open that up, and theres your computer ?

    I probably don't understand something bout that though seems too simple...

    try logmein.com, just make account, log in, and install software on computer, now u can access ur computer from any other computer if its connected to the internet. might have trouble viewing computer and running a scar script not sure, i aint tryed it yet

    It's free, and I use it too
    BTW Xp Media Center is XP Pro with a few more apps?

    ok thanks and i dont think media center has remote acess for some reason but i might be wrong

    logmein.com is free, thats if all u want to do is control ur computer not anything special but there are lots out there just use google

    Situation :

    2 pc connect under 1 switch -> better use VNC to connect (No Internet connection needed)

    2 pc connect under 2 places -> better use Logmein free version (able to connect Internet)

    Try googleing "Radmin" it's an awesome program, you can put it on a flash drive and use it anywhere.

    Is your XP and Media center PC on same LAN? If yes, you can use Microsoft in-built default RDC tool in order to establish remote connection between computers. If they are on different networks, you can either deploy on premise remote support appliance such as RHUB or Bomgar appliances or can even use remote support tools such as logmeinrescue, gosupportnow, GoToMyPC etc.
