    Default Grand Exchange Merchant script?

I know that nobody really knows anything about how exactly the Grand Exchange will work, but it would probably be pretty easy to make a script that searches for items selling for less then they are worth, buy them, and resell them for a little extra to make money. Any comments?

how stupid can people really be? what do you think will happen to the prices... think about it, everyone can see what the everage price is, wont be wasting time selling for more, or buying for less, prices will stabalize, no more merchanting if you ask me(think about the real world when the open market started...)
Infractions, reputation, reflection, the dark side of scripting, they are.

There is no exact price for an item, so not everybody is buying and selling for the exact same amount. All you have to do is find somebody selling for a little less and somebody buying for a little more.

Prices will NEVER stay the same. Your still gonna get highly priced goods. If you want quick sell you sell for lower price.

Really, someone may sell 5k law runes at a discounted price from some guy selling 1 law rune, because some people only want 1 law and will pay higher for it, and other people want mass amounts of items and they can get a good deal on them in bulk.

I'm pretty new here, I don't know much about scar, but it probably could be done pretty easily since it wouldn't involve any pathfinding, complex scripts or anything.. depends on how the grand exchange will work.

Because of the fact that there are unlimited resources in runescape, prices will go very low. Since in real life we have limited resources, we have higher (and more realistic) prices for everything.

I know basic economics and I agree that prices should go down, but there has been unlimited resources in Runescape for a long time and prices haven't gone down too much. Do you think that prices will go down just because the Grand Exchange makes it easier to sell stuff?

There are unlimited resources in RuneScape, but they can disappear too (dropping, skilling etc.), in RL the molecules and atoms keep existing.
My theory is that the Great Exchange is something like a stock exchange. Depending on how exactly they are implementing it, we might be able to write a script that'll raise the prices by buying every offer cheaper then X per item. After some time the prices will raise, as everything cheap will instantly be bought. That's the time we sell our stuff, and make the money.
I dunno about the interface/item searching/whatever, so I can't say anything about the dificulty to write a script for it.
What if it's a great building with all goods scattered, it'll be harder then one big interface with a search button.
I think they gonna release it tomorrow (monday, the day they always update), so we'll see it soon.
I made a new script, check it out!.

    Well...

If all of the goods stabilized, that would suck, wouldn't it? Don't think its going to happen at all.

It might not just be a big interface, but it will probably be something like those large trading markets. You hire a hawker, and he takes a cut off of the gross profit as payment. The hawkers would be hired inter-worldly so as you can reach all of the players. I don't know if they would make you buy a hawker to buy something though. (This way, it keeps everyone from abusing the Grand Exchange as they might if it was a free-for-all.)
The jealous temper of mankind, ever more disposed to censure than
to praise the work of others, has constantly made the pursuit of new
methods and systems no less perilous than the search after unknown
    lands and seas.
