    Default Mouse Question.

OK well I am using the VM thats found in "Swift's" tut how to get a VM and all and its sweet but I have one concern that I am wondering about..

When I first installed i had two mouses. Like one main mouse then when I clicked into the VM it had its own mouse that would only move in the VM and I had to go CTRL>AlT>DEL to get out and that mouse would stay in the VM and I would then use my normal mouse outside of the VM but now suddenly my normal mouse works for both the VM and main and there is no VM mouse it is inviisble and when I auto it is invisible.

I am wondering if because its invisible it will be like "silent mouse" and easily detected and also I am wondering if there is something I can do to get the mouse back because I prefer it how it was first anyway. I think the mouse dissapeared after I installed the VMAdditions.

So if anyone knows how to change back or if it really doesn't matter at all I would love to know..

    Thanks.

so Virtual PC 2007 I am guessing?? (think I found the correct topic, kinda tired so I may have the wrong tut!)

when running the VM/VPC click edit, settings, mouse, and uncheck the box "use pointer integration", then click apply/ok and it should work

I think I got the menus right, dont have it up right now but it should be close, if not that exactly

not totally sure, cant remember what it adds but I use it because of the mouse feature. might be an idea to install it and just disable the mouse (I am sure there is other stuff)

in that case, before you install the addons, copy the hard drive and settings file for that vpc, should be in mydocuments/microsoft virtual pc 2007/computersname

yeah, or a folder right beside

    example time!!!
my documents/VPC 2007/Scar1 (its the folder containing the vpc's hard drive and settings)

    copy it to:
    my documents/VPC 2007/Scar1-Backup

then if anything does go wrong, just copy everything in Scar1-Backup into Scar1.

Just thought of an easier way tho, in the settings dialog there is something called undo disks, set one up (you have to make a new hard drive) and every time you shutdown the comp it asks if you want to keep the changes, so set one up, install vmadditions, and try it out, if you dont like it, dont save it!
