Default Eastereggs in 98 and XP

    windows 98 Easter eggs
    Found Here

    Code:
To display the Windows 98 Easter Egg, do the following:

Double-click on the clock in the tray to open the Date/Time properties dialog box.

        * Click on the Time Zone tab.
        * While holding down the Ctrl key, click and drag from Memphis, Egypt (point 1) to Memphis, Tennessee (point 2).Let up the mouse. There will be no visual indication that anything has happened.
        * Repeat the click and drag again (while holding down Ctrl), this time from Memphis, Tennessee (point 2) to Redmond, Washington (point 3).
        * A nice credits screen (complete with video and music) is displayed.

Actually, there is another way to activate this egg. Better still, you can create a shortcut to activate this cute little egg without going through the hassle of clicking on the places on the map. Try this:

        * Go to C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\WELCOME\
        * Select Weldata.exe. Create a shortcut.
        * Right-click the shortcut. Make sure you are on the Shortcut tab.
        * In the target text box, enter add a "You_are_a_real_rascal" text to the end of the path, in this case:
          "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\WELCOME\WELDATA.EXE" You_are_a_real_rascal
        * From the Run drop-down list, select Minimized.

And there you are, instant egg in a shortcut!
    Code:
        * Open the start menu and in the Program folder right click on any shortcut ( make sure this is not MS DOS Prompt or a folder ) and choose properties.
        * Click on the Change Icon to change the icon, and double click the already selected icon, then press OK to exit the properties window.
        * Go back to the start menu and move your mouse just below Shut Down. A little arrow should be appear just below it, so just move the mouse over it You will see the start menu slide down a little. And you should see Eject PC (!??)
    Code:
In the screen saver settings dialog select '3D Text' as your screen saver. Click 'Settings' and change the text to be displayed to Volcano. The screen saver will now display names of different volcanoes. If you are using Windows NT 4, also try I love NT & not evil.
    Game Cheats (Windows Standard)
    Windows Cheats
    Code:
Are you stuck in your favorite past time games? Just follow the instruction and never lose again with these cheats!

    Solitaire

You can actually turn only one card at a time in 3 cards over mode. Just hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift and click and the card! This will turn only one card instead of 3.

    Free Cell

Can't win? Hold down Ctrl+Shift+F10. A pop-up menu can let you choose whether you want to win, lose or restart.

    Minesweeper

        * Hold down the Shift key and type XYZZY. Release Shift and then press it again. Now whenever your cursor is over the top of a mine, the top left pixel on your screen shows as a black dot.

        * This is more towards an undocumented feature than an egg. Open up winmine.ini. At the end of the file, add the line Sound=3. Run the game. If you have your PC speaker on, you will hear something the next time you hit a mine.

    Hearts

This Egg works only with the Windows 95 release of Hearts. Run Regedit.exe (the Win95 Registry editor, located in your Win95 folder) and go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Hearts. Now, you might be wondering why this teeny game needs its own registry entry (??). In the right hand pane add a new key (string) and name it zb (no quotes). Give it a value of 42. Now run Mshearts.exe and during gameplay press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F12 the same time.

    Windows XP
    XP
    XP 2 (better)
    Code:
Windows Xp has hidden messages or features in certain applications, games and operating system tools. Here are a few of them:
    Minesweeper:
How to reveal Mines in the game:
    1. First Minimize or close all running applications.
    2. Start the Minesweeper game from the start menu.
    3. Type ‘xyzzy’ and hold down the shift key for one second.
    4. Now move the cursor over a Minesweeper square you will notice a tiny white pixel in the top left corner of your desktop screen. This pixel will change to black when your mouse moves over a mine. Make sure you don’t have a white or black color desktop!
Stopping Time count during game play
    1. Launch Minesweeper and start a game so the timer starts counting, then press the Windows Key + D to show the desktop.
    2. Select minesweeper from the taskbar and you’ll notice that the time has stopped.
    FreeCell
Wanna win a Free cell game instantly?? Start a new game and Hold down Ctrl + Shift + F10 during game play. Then you will be asked if you want to Abort, Retry or Ignore. Select Abort, and then move any card to win the game.
    In Notepad:
    1. Launch Notepad, Type .LOG on the first line, and then press Enter to move to the next line.
    2. On the File menu, click Save As, give any name as you like and save the file and close it.
    3. Open the file again, youll notice that that the date and time have been appended to the end of the log.
    In Paint:(Getting 10x Zoom)
Open an image and select the magnifying glass icon. Left-Click exactly on the line below the 8x.
    In Defragmenter:
    Defrag
Theres a Hidden Command Line Switch, in order to find out start the defragmenter and Type defrag c: -b to defragment the Boot and Application Prefetch information.
    Pinball secrets:
    1. Type 1max at the start of a new ball to get extra balls.
    2. Type gmax at the start of a new game to activate the Gravity Well.
    3. Type rmax at the start of a new game to go up in ranks.
    4. Type bmax at the start of a new ball. This will give you unlimited balls. Once this is activated you will be unable to activate other secrets without restarting the game.

LOL! Very nice finds... I have one to add about pinball but I forget it... It was something like typing in "test game" at the beginning of a new game and it allows you to control the ball with your cursor. Can't test right now but I think that was it...

3D Pinball Space Cadet if you type in "hidden test" it will let you hold the ball and drag it around with your mouse.
