Okay, look, now I need to know how much better is Intel than AMD?

Do I want to pay 80€ more for Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66GhZ) than AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.66GhZ)

Intel computer has got 2gig ram, AMD one 3gigs, they have got the same graphics card, and AMD one has 1T of HD, Intel one 500gigs, not that I'd need 500gigs there, 1t even less.


So, anyways, respond to this question: Is Intel worth the 80€ more than AMD? If so, please tell why, don't just say "AMD is shit", I can believe it, but could you then describe the shitness more please.

I don't know if they fixed it by now, but i once saw a benchtest about the heat difference between Intell and AMD. Both PC's where running a game and they removed the processor fan and measured the heat, after that they put it back on.
Intell's heat raised to 60 and rebooted, after putting the fan back on it functioned normally again. AMD heat went up to 350 and got fried.
Since then i'm sticking to Intell.

Intel chips are more powerful, and usually more expensive. If you're buying a pre-assembled computer, then often overclocking is impossible, and you are limited to what they give you. In that case the AMD becomes even less appealing. If you can get an E6750 for the same price as the AMD 5000+ you should definitely go with Intel.

Okay, I've came into the conclusion that I will pay

AMD Athlon X2 2.66ghz
nVidia 8800gt
1t hard drive
3g ram

instead of

929€

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66ghz
2gigs ram
500g hd
nVidia 8800gt

If you can get an E6750 for the same price as the AMD 5000+ you should definitely go with Intel.

Look, AMD computer has a better RAM and better hd, equal gfx, I'm going to buy a pre-assembled computer, and no, AMD Athlon 5000+ in Finland ~100€ and Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 ~ >= 200

just to say that, even though i think you know, that ram can be added so i wouldn't buy an AMD just because of ram, but i don't think that you that stupid,

also hdd space isn't really another choosing option since you can once again add more. But based on my experiences i would pay more for the Intel, despite the difficulties of overclocking due to the AMD's heat factor that psychor mentioned

I'd seriously go with the AMD. Funny I was asking my bro what is the difference just last night. He said AMD go more for the "architecht" of the chip and Intel has gone for speed. BUT now days, AMD is about just as fast as Intel anyways. He said he likes AMD better and most of our comps have been AMD. Plus it costs less, has more RAM, and has double memory.

Psssh, you Intel junkies. I prefer AMD, personally. It's cheaper and it's very good for gaming and compatibility.

But, even I, at the moment, would take this CHEAP Quad-Core over any AMD.

Right now with the current cpu chips I would go Intel, they are leading with the best chips right now. I won't lie tho AMD was leading with the last batch of chips but that has changed with the Duo and Quad cores; Intel rules those right now. If the AMD deal didn't have the 1TB hard drive I would go with the Intel setup. (I love hard drive space)

I have bought the new computer, the amd one cost me 140€ less than the intel shit with 1gig less ram and 500gig less HD. Good deal says I.
