    Lunar Eclips

The lunar ecplis is now PERFECTLY visible. I live in the central timezone and it is perfect.

    Times:
    West coast: 7:00
    Mountain: 8:00
    Central: 9:00
    East coast: 10:00

Next time it will come is in 2010.

    What is lunar ecplis?

    SCAR Code:
    moon         earth        Sun
     _             _           _
    |_|<---shadow |_|<--light |_|
                   ^
            blocks suns light

The sun's light is blocked by the earth, so basicly there is no moon. (Highlight the last 2 words)

You can almost never take pictures of the sky. At least that was back in the day of filmed camras. It was because the light of the flash has to go all the way to space then bounce off and come back, errr something like that.

The flash has to travel all the way to space and come back to the camera before the picture gets taken. But considering the speed of light...That is probably possible except we don't have (yet) have any lights THAT good...

I went out around 9:30 last night. It was too cloudy to get a good look at it, but every once in a while it came through a break.

Yea it looks sweet, but it never looks as well as those professional photos of it perfectly lined up and blood red. To me, it just looked like a little dim red with a little sliver black.

You're lucky. I watched it for a while, and it never turned red (at all).

That eclipse wasted several seconds of my life that i'll never get back. Wasn't very "great" anyways.
