    Default Question about SRL

Throughout the years of using SRL and working with it I've always kind of wondered, is SRL supposed to have very skill specific procedures and functions? I mean there are generic things that SRL have for different skills but I've always wondered if SRL should have a standard procedure for things like FindTree, FindFish, FindFire. This what kind of what my goal was for MSI although not many seemed to adapt and develop that part of it.

But my question is, should SRL have very skill specific functions that play a very prominent role in scripts?

Please post any thoughts people have although I have a feeling I know what most people will say.

Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for.

I'm not sure of the intentions of the original developers, but if you want my opinion, it should have some skill specific things, but things like FindTree, FindFish, etc. should be made by the scripters.
However, I would not have any bad feelings about another include (MSI) that had those things premade. I just don't think that premade things like that should be in SRL, and that SRL is there to make scripting easier, but not completely automated.

Yea, thats kind of my feeling on the subject too. I just hope to get some developers opinions on this as well.

I think it was supposed to be just general things that people could put together to make functions for themselves. Getting specific makes it very easy and mindless. For instance, take a look at an iBot script, they are all short and everything is done for them. Their is no creativity.

I see what your saying Bob and I agree, but thats why I'm asking because although it would make scripting easier a lot of people would like to have a solid procedure for things like that. I do think individualism and creativity are important but I think that SRL (maybe just MSI) needs to starting working as a community to develop crazyfast, efficient, reliable, and accurate procedures like those that can be edited.

I have a feeling that the majority of SRL Members + feel the same as you, although I still want confirmation from a Dev.

Yes, we would like to have that.
Currently I am working on a working FindRock to add to SRL's mining.scar, and I guess I could add a FindFishingSpot to SRL too.

Serious? I'd always thought SRL didn't want to have those specific functions. In that case I think I should update my findfish and post it, since it's obviously the best one you'll find.

It was WT-Fakawi's aim to fill up the Skill section of SRL with high level functions like FindRock, FindFishingSpot, FindTree and many more functions.

Not just Finding functions, but also entire includes and new projects (like Bitmaps.scar and NewAutoColor.scar) can form great additions to SRL.

I would love to see more high level functions.

Now I understand why he was so excited for MSI! Ahh... I guess I better round up the troupes and try to get people working on MSI again. Thats was a main goal of MSI but I don't think many people recognized it. Well... now that I'm back I hopefully I can get people involved again!
