    C++

    Although if you know of another language that would be better suited to developing an amazing MMORPG then by all means let me know. This game is going to be pretty computer intensive as well so... ya...

    Where did/are you learning C++ from, because I'm attempting to learn it (stupid I know) and was wondering if you know any good place to learn it.

    Barnes & Nobles...

    I'm just reading any books I can get my hands on an asking anyone that knows anything. I had a contact that worked for EA Games but he quit since he moved to Indiana.

    I really don't even know enough to start developing it yet, but I at least know enough to pretend I do.

    who is this "we" & "our" you speak of?

    Anyone who's apart of the development team, which right now consists of 6 people that live in my area, 1 in Scotland and 1 in... Indiana... I think.

    Why do you ask?

    Make it able to be played single player or multi player and make sure there are guilds or another form of uniting players and I'll be happy. Though adding a skill system is good too as well all love leveling stats...
    By reading this signature you agree that mixster is superior to you in each and every way except the bad ways but including the really bad ways.

    Heres a question, my dad has a book for 2003 and was wondering how often C++ is updated, so it could be useful. Just wondering if it changes alot, like SCAR for example.

    what i look for in a mmorpg is a combat system that you can always better yourself and hopefully no limit that would be awesome, i would like one sorta like Oblivion but of course online and PvP etc. and being able to create your own armor and make clans, just a game that really is an all rounder. and not having to PAY to play that would make the game that much more enjoyable, and graphics would be good.

    I'm suprised that no-one has mentioned that they look for a large playerbase in an MMORPG.

    One of the best things I like about MMOs is the community. There's nothing worse than grinding through 500 mobs, with absolutely no-body to talk to. You may as well call it a MSORPG if you don't have a large playerbase.

    assuming you want an MMORPG and not an MMO like others have suggested I would hint towards a very intricate story line. I imagine it is fun to write one, and it creates a better experience for the player. Also i would design a game that caters to every type of gamer. Include PvP and PvE that are both immersing. But the downfall of a lot of those games is you have to pick one or the other (WoW is one of the few that doesn't do this), so gamers can try both. Hope my ideas helped, and good luck!
