Yeah, Runescapes gotten boring to me as well, all my friends who used to play it no longer do, when I go back to it, it just feels like I do it to remember the old times.
I miss exploiting the economy, and miss password crackers, and I miss trading money between accounts. They remove all of the stuff that made the game fun to me :P.
I only mine pure ess for easy cash..
Yes, runescape died since the events of 10/12. I very rarely play it now and I'm considering selling my account (O.O) as I figured its a stupid game with no point.
Player something more worthwhile like something to get you fresh air, football for example.
runescape rocks!
I quit RS back in August, before shit hit the fan and the game went down the drain.
Unfortantely I'm back here today. Not to play Runescape for the enjoyment, but to cheat for the enjoyment. It's always been a past love and something fun for me.
Outside of the runescape world I've been tinkering with RSC severs, printing stickers, and going to School (I know, the inevitable for some :P)

Hah. I remember the days I could go out with a group of friends and PK. By the end of some days we'd have almost 50 mil's worth of stuff. Now that isn't very possible except for bounty hunter. I tend to visit runescape every so often but it's just not the same.
thers always maplestory and cabal. keep yo heads up !
With pking and price stable runescape isnt really as fun as it use to. My fav thing to do was mb pk and it was fun.
sadly I have been playing runescape off and on since it was in beta back when i was in 5th grade, (7 years ago). It was like my life, being able to pk anyone anywhere except the bank within 3 levels of you was fking awesome (can i swear?). RS went to crap right when rs2 came out. The only amusing thing to do in this game now is auto and see how high I get before I get banned lol, btw I have legitimately leveled a 78 and a 104 in rs...both banned. I hate you Jagex!!! I tend to talk a lot of crap about jagex and funorb while im playing which is partially why my main got banned lol..
I had over 80 haloween masks believe it or not, I sold them 5-10k each lol.
Anyone else been playing rs for entirely too long?
Its a business, they are doing it to make money, not to make people like them. They don't give a shit what we think about the game, as long as we play it. If they only concentrated on rs, they wouldn't make as much money, not as much advertising space/members. So they need to do both to make more money. Its just a business, designed to make money, not for others enjoyment.
I really can't figure out how runescape even got so popular. I mean most (legit) people grind for skills endlessly and only thing they have to show for it is a sore wrist. Isn't the enjoyability the most vital thing for a game to become successful? Well I guess RS is serious business.
I aswell beleive rs died but its fun aslong as you have people to play with For those guys who gave up try joining a BH Clan then it gets fun and get a range training script in my opinion range is the best and most beasty skill there is
yeah runescape is death the grand exange ***** all the sistem i can scam noobs and merchandasing dead
gandulfin
I only ever autoed on my main for xp any way so the updates didnt really change alot for me, but i do second what has allready been said that the very fact that a community of cheaters is giving out that RS is shit/crap/bad now is proof that the updates did there job.
well no duh its dead it kinda died when they took out staking in the 1st place
I definately agree that the Grand Exchange update is lame. The idea of selling items without spamming in world1 is good, tho the prices shouldnt be defined on forehand.
yer the prices just arent right for some items. being a wcer i was bitterly disappointed to see that the grand exchange has made it almost impossible to sell willows
Jagex's efforts to make Runescape a noob-friendly environment isn't new, they've done it since RS Classic. The censors, the market normalization, tutorial island, gravestones, a lot of things they've done has ruined the MMORPG experience.Runescape's economy was great back in the day because it was full of 12 year olds who didn't know the value of a gp. Now that market prices are set in stone the economy is too hard to exploit to be worth the effort. So what are people doing today? Where have you all fled to?
Back in the good days, I lost 1 million gold worth of items while fighting some jackass elite thief guard (whatever his name is), because I wasn't monitoring my prayer points. Did I simply run back and get my items? Shit no. I lost it all, and I painfully regrinded my life away on every single gp that I lost. I was raging because some nub was watching and probably picked up half the dragon items that I dropped.
I got scammed by the gold switching trick, noobed by people with better knowledge of the economy than me. I died, I grinded. And I became good at the game. And then Jagex introduces a damn feature which completely ruins everything that I worked my ass off for.
Whats worse is, the new market ruins any sort of community. Want to sell coal? Just post it in the exchange. Don't bother spamming for a couple of hours in Falador Bank. Where's the MMO in that? Not to mention the gold limit imposes a sever restriction on introducing friends to the game, helping alternate characters out and generally creating a better playerbase/economy overall
If you play as a normal player for a while, although the game is boring as file system check; you gain a sense of achievement. That's the case with most MMORPGs though - it's not how much skill you have, it's how much time you put into it. And that's why so many kiddies can own at MMORPGs.I really can't figure out how runescape even got so popular. I mean most (legit) people grind for skills endlessly and only thing they have to show for it is a sore wrist. Isn't the enjoyability the most vital thing for a game to become successful? Well I guess RS is serious business.
I've been playing World of Warcraft mostly, but I occasionally pop over to RS to check my old beloved character. I've had some nice memories, but the grinding in Runescape is insane compared to WoW. SCAR is my savior.
