Lots of Jr Members?More req posts?

Ive seen lots of Srl Jr Members now a days after the fix , maybe the requiered posts should be rised, because 10 posts are not hard to reach, and well , there are lots of spammers, and well I dont know, give your opinion...
Mine is that the posts for becoming Srl Jr Member should be rised to a moderated number, not "spammable" and not to hard to get, I would suggest 20 -25...so well VOTE!! and give suggestions

Something that shows that someone like Me , Brain, Sweetleaf, Infidel00, king of the nites , has been a loyal member of this community, not so new and not yet a Member

That might be a good thing to prevent those 'undeserving' of the title from achieving it to easily.

I say you bring up a good point. Posting ten times is very easy, and can be done by botting for one week and posting progress reports each day, which is not that hard of a task. Perhaps is should be looked into.

*off topic, but only by a bit* As of yesterday I was only a community member, but now I am a Jr Member. I never thought I really deserved much more than a community member since I submitted one awful script, post progress reports and give opinions. Oh well, hooray for me now!*

    I agree.
As a new member myself I thaught the boards requirements were quite low compared to others.
I think it's good for new members like myself who want to learn how to bot and produce scripts.
    Posotives and Negatives
    I voted yes though

Yeah "Undeserving" is a good meaning of what Im saying, because many of those Registered Users Just Spamm 10 posts for the Title and nothing else, Not like us that keep on posting trying to learn , help and be usefull for this awsome community...

I think so, maybe increase it and if they dont post a report on a thread 4-5 days after they downloaded it then they should be demoted, or something like that

We added the requirements, because we didn't just want people registering at the forums, taking all of the scripts and then leaving. It encourages them to post, and stay active because they know they will then be rewarded with better scripts.

    I have two ideas...

    Idea 1

I don't know if this is pushing it...but maybe we could add another level? Like say SRL New Member before Jr. Member or something. So SRL New Member could be like the Jr. Member system we have now (10 posts, 1 week of registration). Basically it would be almost the exact same thing as the Jr. Member system now. Then, at say 75-100 posts and 3 weeks of registration, there could be Jr. Member. We could encourage scripters to put nearly flawless scripts in the Jr. Member section, then the scripts that are a work in progress in the New Member section. This way, the interest of people would still be high, since they're getting banking scripts after 10 posts, but they would want to continue contributing.

    Idea 2

Make something like after you have your 10 posts/1 week of registration that you have to stay above 20-40% activity to continue having access to the Jr. Member scripts. You might say "What if I want to take a break from SRL for a while?", that could be a problem, but if you would take the time to learn to script and become an SRL Member, you wouldn't have to worry about it. If not, then you'll have to suffer the consequenses

All in all, I don't think rasiing the req postcount will help much :\

meh, I don't care, I think it should be left the way it is. I mean, the definition of a junior member is 10 posts 1 week, and now that the system is actually working, you start complaining

    Idea 3

Keep the same thing, but to stay Jr. Member you have to spend time on the board. Every week, those that have spent less than like 2-5 hours on the forums are De-Jr. Membered. This would keep people from spamming and might encourage reading tuts (hopefully on scripting) to pass the time. Same as Idea 2, you would have to become an SRL Member to keep this from affecting you (esp. when you go away/inactive for a bit).

I like runescapains idea #1 but I think that they should make the requirements for the junior member should be just that they have completed (or have tried to script and have maybe a partial script done like me...). It would almost be like getting srl members but you would only have to show that you can grasp the basic scripting requirements. Which would be just creating something more than just a autotalker or autologger. Maybe just like a power cutter or powerminer. Or even just an average banking script.( i say average because if it was over average then you could apply for members...). I think this would create some more scripters. We could have like SRL memberz(and above) would just check the script to see if it is not copied or just an autotalker.
P.S. Can i have my name added to the list at the first post of the more active Junior Memberz??

i think that adding new ranks, or upping the post count would help. Jr. Member's only purpose is to replace registered users but make sure that people cant just anonymously/randomly register and never post. With the 10 posts it at least assures that we know who's here.

If you really wanted to do something, then upping the amount of time(1 week), or having them keep a activity of 50% for the first 2-3 weeks.
I dont love either of those two ideas, but that(the second one) would be my pick if someone was to do something.

One thing i'd like to know, is if non-junior members have access to tutorials, because if they dont then i think that should be changed

I voted yes, and i didn't even read the whole post lol. just saw the title and that was enough for me. I mean everyday i see alot of "jr" members acting like leechers and what not, not even taking the time to look at the tut's or try and figure something out themselves.

I also support runscapians first idea, ( i was actually thinking about the post to be at 100 before i even read your comment haha, great minds think alike ) .

and thank you Dracody for including me in that list. I didn't think anyone really noticed me around here haha.

    off topic//
oh and btw i just noticed i got over 300 posts, idk when that happened tho lol. yay for me. lol.

We will not be adding in another level between JSRL and Registered users. It has already been discussed and rejected by staff

if thats true then im kinda mad. They should have access to all the tutorials. If some people choose to put scripts in their tuts then so be it. Learning shouldnt have a cap

On my forums you can't become a senior user (which is similar to Junior Member) unless you have 25 posts and have been registered for 5 days. Maybe impliment something similar to this forum as mine?

EDIT: King of the nites: They have access to all of the tutorials but can only post in the beginners tutorials (same as you guys).

Epic, that is the same as Junior member requirements, except for they are 7 days and 10 posts.

I honestly wouldn't consider 4-5 months a long time... Those that have been around since the board started, I think they should have access to many more things other just than either SRL-Members, or SRL-Jr. Members. Personally, I'd say that there should be a 25 post, with 14 days to become an SRL-Jr. Member, but that's just my opinion, and as Starblaster said, it won't happen... ah well
