    Default What is autocoloring?

I know what DTMs, DDTMs, and RadialWalking is, but what the heck is AutoColoring? There's tutorials telling me how to create my own autocolor, how to use it.

But there doesn't seem to be a very detailed explanation on how it works. It's probably very simple, and I'm just stretching it way out of proportion.

You know the colour of runescape goes darker or brighter everytime you log in? Well, Findcolortolerance will find the color, but it will not tell you what the color is. Autocolor is basically using findcolortolerance to find the color, then use the color you found next time you call findcolortolerance again.

Try reading Tarajunky's chicken killer if you still don't understand.

Actually, emphasis on the word try

    Elaborating on lee's description...

Autocolouring is the process of getting the colour of a particular object, item or minimap feature.

As you should know the colour of many things change quite a lot everytime Runescape loads so a simple FindColor wouldn't work all the time. If you use FindColorTolerance it might work however sometimes the colours change so much that if you set a large tolerance, you risk finding the wrong object.

Autocolouring avoids this problem by getting the colour of the object/item/mm feature at that point in time. This way you will not have to use a tolerance and therefore will find the object/item/mm feature accurately.

Making an autocolour procedure can be simple or it can be complex based on how unique the colour is or if it has any distinguishing features.
