    Default XP or VISTA

Which is better? Which should I get? I have vista currently installed, and it's acting gay on me. Smart isn't working. Java says its installed, but Runescape isnt loading. Everything was working good, until I reinstalled Vista. So, I'm wondering... Should I install XP, or just keep Vista. I would like opinions on performance, and quality(everything works ok).

I have XP and I believe the majority of Windows users have XP. I know Vista is not yet compatible with everything and bugs out with stuff it is compatible with. But as I have never had Vista I guess my opinion isn't the greatest.

I have often seen threads that explain that Vista Sucks Shit. I would honestly stick with XP and wait the humongus time it take to get all bugs fixed with Vista...
Then again, thats my opinion, you can do what you want.

its amazing that one has recomended that you switch to MAC. if your just bad with computers than switch to mac its easyer to use, think kiosk.

on the other hand i used vista for 8 months and the over all work flow on it wasnt as good as i would like it to be. switch to TinyXP and use astonshell or window blinds.

    here is my desktop.

XP for the win TBH. Vista is designed for complete computer idiots. It takes someone with half a brain to run XP

    Windows XP.
I say this NOT because Vista sucks, because it doesn't, but because XP is more compatible. There aren't very many bugs in Scar for it, and a lot of programs are compatible with it.

However, once there are some service packs for Vista, I'd probably say Vista because Vista does NOT suck, it just has few problems.

I know its a modified version. I have it, just it only has like paint, notepad, firefox and a few other stuff. Isnt the true?

EDIT: yeah gone fishing. I know vista doesn't really suck that bad. It just needs to be compatible. Just why I'm saying that is because I screwed up and now I reinstalled Vista, and now Runescape, and smart arednt working and Java isn't installing

XP is the best windows OS in my oppinion robust and fast but i also have vista and i rarely have problems with it apart from a vew compatibility issues. Most of the people on here who say vista is a resource hog / slows down for them your pc must have crappy specs

lol Windows ME was the *worst* windows ever (ME = Multiple Errors!)

    Vista FTW!

No, really. I have both Vista and XP installed on different computers at my home and I really prefer to use Vista.
I have only had one program that I want fail to run so im pretty happy.
(the program was just a game, but a good one... heard of ? lol)

XP Ultimate is the best.... is is a combination of Windows XP Pro and Media Center then has all the useful Vista apps thrown in there as optional without all the crap.

I got vista on my laptop and actually really enjoy it, though I'm running a pretty powerful machine. (4.4 ghz 4 gigs ram, 512 mb nvidia card)

The UI looks great and I haven't had problems running anything after I reinstalled some programs.

Then again you can get a lot of the vista look without upgrading from xp. This is my desktop computer, running xp. It has a fully functional dock and most of the vista interface. There are also vista sidebar programs, I just don't use them.
