With the new release of the resizable game window, Jagex has made is available for free players to play in fullscreen. In this tutorial, I will tell you how to.
First off, you will need the latest FireFox, available from here: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
Secondly, you will need Mozilla FireFox's advert blocker add-on. You can download this from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10
Or you can use another add-on from Mozilla; Firebug. You can download it from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843
Finally, you will need a PC that can cope with it.
Now that you are running FireFox with the ad blocker add-on installed, go onto Runescape.
Continue as usual until you reach the load screen.
Once you get there, before the advert at the top loads, right click it, and at the bottom, there is something like "Block iFrame". Click on that.
Where the advert should be will now be black. This is against the rules, but Jagex can't find out unless you go around shouting out you use an ad blocker.
Now wait for Runescape to get to the login screen. Once there, press F11, and the window should go fullscreen. If it doesn't then press "View" at the top of FireFox, and then click "Fullscreen".
There you go, you are basically playing Runescape in Fullscreen, without a Runescape membership!
Screenshot:
This is a picture of using the ad blocker add-on, not Firebug.
Another way to do this is with FireBug; another FireFox addon.
Download FireBug, and open Runescape like above.
Right click the ad, and press Inspect Element.
When you move your mouse the code in the box that appears, an area on the screen gets highlighted.
Stop at the piece of code which highlights the ad.
Now where it says Height(56) - just an example, put Height(0), and ad will be gone!
Enjoy!
