Default Programs and Utilities I Use

Greetings adventurer! Welcome to the internet!
Today I'd like to show you a couple programs which I find useful!
And best of all, they are all FREE.

    Programs that yargo likes!!!!!!!!!

    1) SCAR - Duh.

    2) AHK - AutoHotKey is an awesome scripting program that can do many of the same things as scar. It is easy to script in and its potential is only limited by your creativity. And also you can package your scripts into .exe files with a click of the mouse soc you can run them on any windows computer in existence.

    3) Wireshark - Here's a great little program. When running it sits on top of your internet connection and watches the packets go by. The packets are not intercepted as much as audited. It's really good at filtering, and lets you view the information of each packet. In combination with any major programming language you can easily build score senders for low tech games. It is also interesting to see what information your computer is broadcasting so you can check for spyware and such.

    4) Vixy - You can use this web based service or home computer client to download Youtube videos and convert them to any major format, or rip the sound to an mp3. All you have to do is type in the youtube url and hit start.

    5) PeerGuardian - This program blocks malicious traffic to and from your computer. It makes piracy somewhat safer (although nobody here would ever download anything illegally. Also if you hit the block http button it will eliminate most ads, even the ones your poppup blocker doesn't get. Be warned that it will also block many multiplayer games from contacting the server or webpages such as microsoft. But it can easily be turned off.

Well that concludes this tour of my favorite utilities. For now. I'm sure I've missed a couple and I know I'm keeping a couple a secret. But they may be added later.

I have them on a floppy.

thanks for that yargo ill take a look at those, i think i may be the only one here but i use Maxthon which is a browser that originates with IE but it is so much better, it is like a IE/FF mix, it comes with adblockers and such, i think it is easier to use than FF but better looking than IE, you can make an account with it and it stores all of your favorites and everything even if you delete it

If you get the vixy program you don't have to deal with the whole server busy thing. And so unless your computer has something seriously wrong with it the server will never be busy.

I like to use Opera browser. Opera has been leading ingenuity in the field of web browsing since its conception. For instance, tabbed browsing is an Opera invention, as well as the keyword history searching that recently appeared in firefox. Its also way more customizable than firefox is, and the mouse gestures are way more user friendly(if you're into mouse gestures, that is). I might have to check out Maxthon though, it sounds pretty cool
