    Default PC problem

Hi all, I've got currently a program with my pc.

I downloaded a torrent for VMWare Workstation 6.
The download stopped at 98.8% and couldn't download further. I thought what the heck and I planned installing it, while installing i canceled it and it didn't got installed (this info is probably worthless, but w/e).

When I opened an included keygen, BitDefender asked me if he should allow "com64" or so to make a registration (regedit).

Now, from that time I had problems with FireFox, I couldn't open FireFox anymore and decided to reboot my pc.

When Windows was started up, I saw that my background has been changed to blue. I currently :

    *have probs with firefox
    *can't find default background pictures
*can't access c drive, I get error (No file found in drive, put in valid mdeium in station \Device\Harddisk1\DR2
*can't use windows afe mode :s

    Can someone pleaaaaaaase help me?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Tsn.

Did you try system restore to before you downloaded the program?

You probably know this already but , what the hell.

Start--> My Programs--> System Tools--> System restore. Click on it then follow the guide.

I let BitDefender do a deep-scan and he didn't find anything...

Btw, I can't access c drive from: my computer > dbbl click drive; but I can if I go to start>run>type "c:\"

    Is my regedit changed?:s

Maybe you should do an online scan. Check your processes running. If you do not know what or whose process it is, google it or just terminate it. Once you found a "bad process", check if it's in your start-up list (msconfig).

You might also want to run some spyware scans (spybot s&d and/or Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware).

It sounds like you've got a virus. If your antivirus isn't detecting it, scanning your computer won't help. And system restore might not work because some viruses can load themselves into ram buffer, wait until restore is complete, and then repopulate the hard drive. I recommend loading windows in safe mode and then running antivirus. If the problem still presists, than I recommend using Bart PE and editing your registry. You can also use antivirus software with Bart PE.

some viruses hide themselves as svchost.exe so be carefull which processes you are terminating.

I'm just wondering... why in the hell would you let a keygen do anything to the registry... all it does is generate keys... lmfao

Ya gotta think about that stuff next time

I would do what [-jesus-] said, but if you know things about computers you could probably guess what is suspicious in the log and fix it yourself

How isn't it? That's exactly what those "Professionals" do. They look for suspicious things and tell you to delete them and then give you some virus scanner.

Getting advice from people that fix computers on a normal basis > asking for help in a Runescape cheating forum lol.

Hope you get your PC back to normal, I hate it when something is wrong with my PC and don't know how to fix it.

I fix computers almost every day at my school, most problems are adware/virus related. Shouldn't judge people on these forums. We all aren't 12 year olds.

No, maybe getting advice from you is < then, we rs cheaters are actually knowledgable and dont just tell you you need to buy a new harddrive or sum bs. Im leet at de-virusing windows

Anyways, most people who get hired there are people that probably arnt as smart as the average good scripter here.

My advice to you, is run some scans (you've probably done this but w/e). Then go through your processes and look them up on the internet, you can find out which ones are viruses if you know where to look. Then just delete them (if you cant do this then just remove thier permision to run )

Also if you have to many processes then too bad clean ur computer
