Default HELP - DTM's and Bitmaps

I cannot tell the difference between bitmaps and DTM's. It seems like they are both shapes that hacve colors in them that you tell SCAR to look for. DTM's just seem like they are a waste of time when you could use Bitmaps. Could someone explain the difference to me please?

like if you have a object like a bone yeah I don't know the exact width hight but lets say, 30 x 30. now a bitmap contains all the pixels like pixel on 1,1 etc up to 30,30 a bitmap is just a whole image 30 x 30 image of a bone in .bmp format Bitmap.

a DTM is a few points on the "image" like 1,1 3,3, 13,18 go on... the point of dtm's is you can use the black outline(On the items) to point out points and you can use 1 point in the middle and you got a fast procedure to find the bone a bitmap of a bone is needed to be accurate but that's way bigger , so takes lot of CPU.

I hope this makes a lot clear.

    IMO DTM's > DDTM's > Bitmaps.

DTM's are smaller and faster afaik.
I've been using DTM's my whole time in SRL.
    Can't tell much about bitmaps.
