    Default About the LHC

They're turning on the machine tomorrow, 10/9. I remember seeing a therad about that on the forum, but i just can't find it :S.
If anyone needs to know more about that, the LCH experts made a Rap out of it:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j50ZssEojtM

There are posibilities that we all die if something goes wrong, and now that you've seen that video (i really lol'd at the fact that they CANT dance/rap), would you trust your life to that guys? Personally, I wouldn't

I wonder what we will find. I doubt that turning it on can kill us, as the energy it produces is not enough to make a continual black hole or anything giant.

If the LHC-experiment really is as dangerous as some people claim, I don't think the experiment would ever find place, at least, not publicly. I feel 100% safe.

Well, maybe a bit less safe after seeing that video that you posted.

If black holes do emerge, they will disappear as soon as they are created and are so small it wouldn't cause any major effect when it happens.

i doubt much will happen. but if anything does then they said they can shut it down in less than a second. and even a nuclear bomb wouldnt be able to kill the whole earth.

Black Holes can suck everything within its gravitational pull ( which is huge). So imagine Earth being sucked into oblivion in a few seconds, and thats from a small black hole.

im doubt we'd even be able to create a black hole. I also dont see how a black hole would be able to suck the earth down if the black hole is inside the earth?(afaik the experiment is 300 feet under the ground).

!!!! about the black holes! i have a fucking genius idea!!!!!
if this has a possibility of creating a black hole, then soon, mabye within like a decade or so we will be able to create black holes and control them and THATS where we can put our nuclear wastes and other things thats taking up space on the world! (like seriously)

It is compleatly safe. The earth is doing these experiments every day. In the sky, the suns energy is crashing into our atmosphere (sp?) and does those small explosions.

    Isn't this wrong forum?

EDIT: Ok.. theres 0.0001 chance of that we all die.

that doesnt really make sense, because black holes create radiation. So why would that help?

and the black hole would suck us in if we were close enough to actually make it in the first place.

    So, it wasn't on yet
And yes, i made a little more research (jk, i just read it in the post above xD) and the particles are going to start crashing the 21st of october.
