I mean, burning buildings are normal. In Brazil (can't remember what city), there once was a fire in a high-rise building. Obviously not as large as the WTC (and not a terrorist attack), but I think in total more people died than at the whole of 9/11. The twin towers were almost empty (early morning) and the thing in south America was an apartment complex. Nevertheless, my heart goes out to all the victims (of both events).
I just can't comprehend the media frenzy after it happened. I mean, terrorist attacks are normal. Maybe not in the west... But in the middle east or other parts of Asia, barely a week goes past without someone blowing himself to bits or a car bomb going off. Ok, when it happens it's a bit unusual, but you get used to it.
8:45 AM is not really early morning. And 9/11 is like the biggest terrorist attack there ever was, about 3,000 deaths in all.

And i love hearing about the stupid conspiracies. Its just a dumb online fad...

I was in social studies class and we didn't do anything at school the rest of the day but sit and watch the TV. I was old enough to comprehend what was going on. It hit pretty close to home with me. My cousin worked on the lower floors of the 1st building that was hit, so it made me think a lot of mixed emotions at the time (I didn't know what floor she worked on back then). She made it out fine but I know a few co-workers she knew very well didn't have the same fate.

I was 11... I remember being at recess, and this kid who no one liked ran out saying there were bombs on TV and he was watching them in detention. Yeah, after that we watched them in class. It really was horrific.

Really not that important... there are larger mass murderings happening right now that affect the countries trade market...

And the fact that like 50% of Americans don't even know the year it happened in just makes me care less about it...

The documentaries are actually pretty logical because there using pretty good evidence to support it... there are so many things that happened they just couldn't all be coincidental?

So its not important that we got into a worldwide 7 year war because of it? It was a very big event and the largest attack on US soil in history... Where did you get the 50% dont know the year?

Sure they are, but eyewitnesses and everything just makes it seem rediculous...

    Worldwide?
The "largest coalition ever formed to date" fights specifically in Iraq & Afghanistan. The repercussions of the USA/ the coalition invading might have made it worldwide with terrorist attacks happening in India, UK, etc, however the actual "war" is going on in just Iraq & Afghanistan.

"the largest attack on US soil in history"
Did you get that from CNN?

    We also love oil!
The military objectives of the invasion were; 1. end the Hussein regime; 2. eliminate weapons of mass destruction; 3. eliminate Islamic terrorists; 4. obtain intelligence on terrorist networks; 5. distribute humanitarian aid; 6. secure Iraq’s oil infrastructure; and 7. assist in creating a representative government as a model for other Middle East nations.

    R.I.P, 1 day late.

I was actually in 2nd grade, and I was driving around with my mom and it was like the only thing on the radio.

It is, that phrase is overly used by "the media" however IMO.

Saddam Hussein was basically defeated after the Gulf War, there is a quote from a US soldier somewhere (maybe a book I have upstairs..) I believe that goes something like
"As we were entering a portion of Iraq at night we received intel about a battalion of Iraqi armor(tanks) ahead, when we got there we realized they were all the rusted out body's of tanks from the Gulf War"

Also, in the MSNBC link you provided there:
[...] While yellowcake alone is not considered potent enough for a so-called "dirty bomb" — a conventional explosive that disperses radioactive material — it could stir widespread panic if incorporated in a blast. Yellowcake also can be enriched for use in reactors and, at higher levels, nuclear weapons using sophisticated equipment.
    [...]
Israeli warplanes bombed a reactor project at the site in 1981. Later, U.N. inspectors documented and safeguarded the yellowcake, which had been stored in aging drums and containers since before the 1991 Gulf War. There was no evidence of any yellowcake dating from after 1991, the official said. [...]
There is no solid evidence Saddam Hussein was capable of producing Nuclear bombs, sort of like how during WW2 the Allies believed Hitler was close to developing and completing his nuclear bombs, once the war had ended and they checked out the info Germany had on nuclear weapons, it turned out he was no where near capable of completing, or successfully using a nuclear bomb.

He was baisically defeated, but still the ruler of a country, when a nutjob, who kills around 80 of his own people every day is in power, he doesnt need to be in power...

The point is he did have the materials for it, also we went into iraq mostly because he wouldnt let the UN search for WMD's, when he did, he wouldnt let them look where they wanted to...

There weren't any from the 2 documentaries I saw, they were based purely on fact...

If you say it was a terrorist attack why can't you say it was the US itself... there is not full evidence to support either.

I was in school 1st grade, we got sent home early because I was right in the d.c. area. I didn't know why but I didn't care at the time because I was getting out of school. Know I know why and it stinks.

Only 6.721 billion people on Earth, and I doubt every since person believe the same thing (as you can see from posts on any forum and in the media)

Total people ever to have lived isn't even near 1trillion:

Number who have ever been born: 106,456,367,669
