    Default Script Rules Clarified.

The SRL Staff has clarified the script rules.
There are no new rules, they are just all declared and made clear on one thread.

    Script Rules.
    We do NOT:
    • obfuscate our scripts, we do not encrypt them. You are free to do so, but you are not allowed to post a reference to it on SRL.
    • use default stats accounts. This has been discussed before, and it is not allowed.
    • terminate scripts if Stats accounts are not filled in. You post a script, some people will leech it, others will post reports. It's a simple as that. Without SRL-Stats you wouldn't even add this kind of stuff to your script. (No Anti-Leech system)
    • log IP's, or any RuneScape account details.
    • open web pages that contain no use full addition to the script. And unless you can come up with a real good reason, I suggest you don't use it at all. Opening Web Pages that are used for ads, etc. are not allowed.
    • hide any code from the human eye, we do NOT space it to the right. We have nothing to hide.

If you don't follow these rules, you will be corrected, and infraction or other punishments will follow.

The Staff is also aware that some of you might not have been aware of certain rules, and therefore give the scripters some time to adjust their scripts.

    SCAR Code:
    If  SrlStatsUser = '' then
     //Open SRL STATS PAGE HERE
    writeln('You did not use stats , the script will still run but i advise you sign up to stats');

Like just pointing them in the right derection to sign up?

    I disagree on this point:

Shouldn't it be the script creators own descision?

I think we should be able to do the kind of thing that nicbaz was talking about.
Good call on the obfuscation, we learned about that from MOB the hard way...

I think we should be allowed to use Anti-Leech.

All of the other rules are great.

Instead of terminating, making a endless loop?

I guess im not gonna release my script after all.....

    Code:
    • Narcle: I recall Jukka releasing a bunch of scripts like this before... Its how he rolls I think. rofl
    • Solarwind: Dude, you are like... t3h s3x.
    • Hy71194: JuKKa you're a machine! You released 3 scripts in 10 minutes! :O
    • benjaa: woah.... Jukka is the man Guildminer pwns all
    • NaumanAkhlaQ: And JuKKa Is my Her0!

That's a stupid reason to not release a script. But it is your script...

    Love these new rules.

I don't like the rules against anti-leeching but admit they make complete sense. All the other rules are great thanks for the clarification.

I believe it should be the creators desition as well. I have never personally used one (Anti-Leech system), but I think there should be an option.

I agree on all the rules. If you are a diva, and don't feel like releasing a script because people leech it then it's YOUR call.

I can't really understand why, though.

And if you want to post anti-leech-scripts, Sythe might not be the best place either

I think these rules are great; SRL is an open and friendly community. Our scripts should be also.

well how about just release to srl members only...
    since the anti-leech thingy?

hmm good idea since most srl members got srl id/p.w
    we should do that.

SRL doesn't revolve around SRL Members.

It revolves around the SRL Community.
