Both would be very good to know fluently.
Learn one (C++) then learn the other (Java).

    Goodluck.
The game has an unexplainable attraction that convinces the player they are having fun, despite the fact that all they are doing is performing repetitive tasks to increase their statistics. "The game is actually a graphical nightmare and its gameplay is simple at best. Yet something, perhaps by subliminal means, forces the player - against his will - to play the game, and to believe that they are having fun".

Anyway, Ashur. Learn java first. It is very friendly and easy to learn.
    I suggest Netbeans as IDE.
When you know java, learn C++.

I haven't tried C++, but java is amazing to learn in my opinion. It's the first language I ever learned to program, and it was easy! I learned to program when I was 10, now don't get me wrong and think java is crappy like vb6. Java is basically good quality, and simple to learn.

I like Java because of it's portability. Second C++ isn't as easy to learn GUIs on. (Or so I've heard.)

Any idea on what you want to learn them for? That would help you decide, although it looks like you are already heading for JAVA.
