    Default Apply For Jr. Members

    Okay.

I've been browsing the forums lately, and.
There have been wayyyy too many people just spamming to get their Jr. Member.

One person posted something along the lines of "wow. nice " around 4 times on different threads. Now, come on.

I'm assuming that Jr. Member is automatically given.

    I think this is wrong.
Most of them did nothing at all to earn anything?!

I think that Jr. Member should either be given out manually, or there should be an application to get Jr. Member.

In this application, they would have to show a basic knowledge of basic SCAR scripting.

Eg., a short script that could successfully click a tree. Something basic to show that they have a clue what they're doing.

    Anybody agree?
    Thoughts, comments.

Yea, I hear you. The spamming is getting a bit over the top in some cases. However, having to review that many scripts just seems a little much. I mean there are a LOT of Jr. Members here, and having to evaluate each of their scripts? That's a lot of work. Not to mention most could probably just copy and paste someone else's script and use it as their base knowledge, seeing as most basic things are similar.

I like the idea, I think it would just be a bit impractical.

I agree with BlackThursday. It wouldn't be practical to go through all of the scripts to give JRM status. But somthing could be done like making higher standards to be one. Maybe they could make the posts have to be over 20 words long instead of like 3. Or to make it practical they could always grab some random guy that complains about the current system and make it his job to go through the applications. Be carefull what you wish for.

It would be very impractical who would judge it? SRL Members? Maybe SRL Junior members but Idk.

    Deleted everything off topic.

No to apps. The solution is discouraging spamming.

It would be way to hard to deturmine every single person here if when they get 10 posts, to go through all their posts, then vote on if we want them to be a jr. member. Seems a bit impractical. And besides that point, i dont think people would care enough to actually vote.

But dam. Why should people have to get 10 posts? Why not 50?

10 posts can be quickly achieved with spamtastic posts.

50 is ALOT of posts for someone who doesnt care about scripting/doesnt know. Al 50 would do is increase the nuumber of spam people made in an attempt to become a jr. member.

But you would have a lot of people who actually have an idea of what their doing, instead of spammers who will leech your script, not post a proggy, and then never come back.

This has been brought up before. The cons are to many to the pros. Leechers quite frankly keep this place alive. They are also the ones that use the scripts the most. The 10 posts count isn't as important as the 1 week wait for Junior member.

Would increasing time needed to be a jr member have less cons than post count? I think 1 week is a bit short. Maybe their overall time spent on the forums can be the deciding factor?

Yes, as well as their time ACTIVE on the forums.

And by active I mean being here, posting helpful posts.

There should be a team of Jr. Member sorters xD

Leechers ask the most stupidest questions.

    For example.

HOW DO I GET SRL STATS? or HOW I CAN GET SR JR MEMBER?

They don't read stickies... at least we could try to make them post a topic, get them to set up an scar script correctly.

TBH, leechers think the script are 100% safe when they are not, and they macro for like 20+ hours..

You want to run though the applications and approve/deny?

That would suck and be boring. And have been a regular member? They don't have access to the Jr. Scripts, and most of the FFA scripts are poorly maintained (no offense to anyone). It is hard to be active until you have the decent scripts to be active with...

And the spammers would just spam more if you raise the postcount req.

Something above about Jr. Members judging the basic scripts. That might not be a terrible idea. We'd just need to find some JRMs that have a clue.

The stuff about leechers is very true. They do generate tons of traffic. However, after a certain point you really do need to start asking for a little more.

I'd be happy if I was nominated as the decider.

It would take, what, 3 minutes per application?

If the people actually wanted the scripts, just take the 3 minutes to fill out/judge the application.

That would dumb down the leechers by handfuls.

I think there should be more requirements for Junior Member, and there should be another group for people between Junior Mem and Member, like a site Regular.

If you can pickup How to click on a tree, then you would easy pickup how to make a full script.. apply for srl Members Xd, TheVoiceInYourHead, you could easyly be a SRL member if you took the time to make a nice script, not very short like your other apps something that walks and banks and does something in the middle

I dissagree with this idea tho.

I agree.... there should be something more than 10 posts... there are so many times that I see people start a thread trying to become a jr mem and all it says is "hello....blah....blah.... " and then they put three posts after it complaining that nobody is talking to them..... seriously ... can't there be something more to be completed to become a jr mem...?
