I dont think that even infractions make that much of a difference because its like a warning, and then what? those posts don't get taken away (AFAIK) and its not hard to spam 10 posts. I like the idea (kind of, maybe something better could be thought of than using scripting)
No. JR members was made to separate the 2-post count-ers from the 20-post count-ers.
IMO the names are quite a bit off.. JR SRL Member gives too much credit.
Also all < 10 posters should be pruned once a month or so. Would keep our members page pretty and our userdb small.
Interested in C# and Electrical Engineering? This might interest you.
Hmm I'm sorry but I think that this is the idea for SRL Members and that it should stay the way it is.
The idea for SRL Members is that you can construct an entire script.
What I want is for them to show basic knowledge of srl.
As a lot of people have already said, this would be bad. If you raised post count req you would have like 5x more spam. It would also be bad because who would want to waste their time judging like 100 scripts per week. If not more.. Thats all I got to say. ~1337N3SS~
I would like to judge 100 scripts per week if it dumbed down on the leechers and spammers.
PM spam to me...
Still think this is a good idea.
@smart kids, is advertising legal?
Oh Hai Dar
I like the idea of an SRL Regular rank being between Junior Member and Member, then you could do a basic knowledge script maybe for that, there'd be less spam in there and maybe better scripts then junior mems, but not as good as member scripts, just so there's a good spot of working scripts without spam for people who care about srl.
This has been talked about too much before. AFAIK this isn't going to happen. I just think it would be too much at times. Just how an amount of applications are already with no script. Look at how many idiots would try and app without a script!
Cut em2 it

No script = auto-decline.
Can't we use the same thing SRL Member app has?
But make the code requirement much less?
lolz... ive got less than 50 posts and ive got a working multi city smelter... post count dont mean much

Post count DOES mean much when they're spamming for free scripts.
I'd say 10 posts as it is, post count means bugger all imo.. Have a Junior Member application section. Players post there scripts, or whatever weird and wonderful things they've made there, and Junior Members and above can vote Yes or No for their application. 15 votes yes would mean the player is automatically made a Junior Member, 15 votes no, the application is denied, and another application cannot be submitted for another 3 days. I like orange's idea!
no people come hore to get script and they need jrmember to do it
People come here to leech. Like you, charliebug, for example.
We need people who want to learn about what they are doing, so we can create better scripts for the community. Not for people to leech and never return.
yes i am still a new member to these forums. personally i dont think there should even be a 'chicken status'. id say go straight to jr status. just cut out the spamming and cut to the chase. theres always going to be leechers. i used to leech ill admit. now im actually attempting to learn a bit about making my own scripts. im doing alot of learning tho by looking at premade scripts for ideas and templates.
The chicken status is something everyone starts out as.
The next thing up is Lesser Demon, I believe.
We're talking about going from Registered User to Junior Member.
There won't always be leechers if we make them work for it.
The best way to contact me is by email, which you can find on my website: http://wizzup.org

There have always, and will always be leechers.
Almost every one of us started out as a leecher. Hence, this community is depending on those people. Lets compare this to real life; if one of the classes in society were to be removed, the community would collapse. Also, this has been suggesten a lot of times, and rejected every single time as far as I am aware of.
The focus is set on the wrong subject in my honest opinion. Instead if attempting to prevent and discourage leeching, why not try to encourage scripting? Instead of trying to come up with ideas on how to shun away leechers, we should instead come up with ideas of how to get people to start scripting! This would indeed result in more scripts being released, more people drawn to this place, more SRL fixes and improvements and a generally better community.

Scripts: Varrock Smither! | Fight Caves Runner! | Kebab Buyer! | L.A.M.E. (Outdated)
Tutorials: SRL user-defined procedures | JaGex UID files | Printing your scripts
Applications: StartUp Notepad | SCAR Assistant
Misc: FREE Delphi 7 v2 | Official SRL Graphics
I couldn't resist. Btw issue has been brought up as mentioned. It won't change. I agree with EC we need to encourage people to script rather then test them.
(Scripts outdated until I update for new SRL changes)
