    Default Speeding Up Your FireFox

    Lets begin:

Type about:config in address bar and hit enter then there should be came list.

scroll list down until you find these:

    network.http.pipelining
    network.http.proxy.pipelining
    network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

when you enable pipeling your broswer will request many web pages at time so it will really speed it up!

    Now do this:

    Alter the entries as follows:

    Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

    Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to number like 25-30. this will mean to your broswer will make now like 25-30 requests at time.

and now lats thing to do Right click anywhere and select New>Integer and put it name as nglayout.initialpaint.delay, and set the value number to 0. this will make your broswer to wait 0 seconds before it acts on infromation it receives.

Close your broswers and start again now your firefox should be 2-3 times faster...

    another useful ones:
    - change network.http.max-connections to 64

    - change network.http.max-connections-per-server to 21

    - change network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server to 8

and another useful link: MozillaZine Forum

Very helpful, I did a internet speed test, at first it saw I was using a normal DSL connection, after I did this It said I was T2 to Fiber Optics. I just wished it had the same speed change in DLs :P. Nice job though.
    No room for thoughts.

    Default Fasterfox

the best way to make firefox faster that i have found is an extension called Fasterfox. this does all of the tweaks said above and more. also it is much easyer than doing it yourself.

    Here is the website: http://fasterfox.mozdev.org/

All that's extra is a little timer to count how long it tooken the current page to load.

It also prefetch's some links so the pages start to download even before they have been clicked. so when you click on them they will appear instantly.

Awesome, info. Does anyone have any tips to maybe maximize Opera as well? Since I use both browsers it would be helpful.

    Thanks
