Just wondering... I know it's a scale from 1-4, but could someone explain how levels line up to percents?
My brother is in university and he was trying to describe it to me, but I don't get it.

4.0 is all straight A's, well...A+'s at my college, are you talking about college GPA, or highschool? cuz my highschool did it a little differently, since they didn't really do credit hours like college does

yea, GPA's are just the average of all your course grades, converted into a number. (B's are worth 3.00, C's 2.00 etc, with decimals in between). Usually there weighted courses too, those are extra hard ones, so an A+ (97-100 average in the class) is worth 5.00, (more then usual)...
Well in Canada we don't have them in high schools, so I guess for university what is it?
EDIT: Missed your post. Thanks, that clarifies it.
well....here we can't 5.00...A+ is worth 4, A is worth 3.75, A- is worth 3.50 ect, and they are multiplied by the credit hours. Like if I took a 3 credit class, and got an A+ in it, I would 12.00 points out of 12.00. Thus giving me 100% and a 4.00.
Let me go check my transcript for more info...
EDIT:
Alright, so I was little wrong with what I first said, but pretty close...![]()

To find your Gpa you look at your grades.
A= 4.00
B= 3.00
C= 2.00
D= 1.00
F= 0
(If it is an AP class you would add 1 point to it- (B)3.00 = (A)4.00 {An A would be 5.00})
Add each grade together. (Lets say we have: 3 A's 2 B's and 1 C.)
It would look like this. 4.00 + 4.00 + 4.00 + 3.00 + 3.00 + 2.00= 20.0
Then take the Sum(20.0) and Divide by the number of grades you have(6)
Your Gpa would be: 3.3
Hope this helps.

Different schools calculate it differently, but the main idea is that it's an average of all your grades.
