If you read the first post you would find the answer to this question. Marriage is not a "holy thing" in the 21st century. It's simply a legal bind that most often can decide where money goes in the case of death, child alimony (adopted or otherwise), and other legal problems. You are free to consider marriage what you want, but when it comes down to the law, it's very important that everyone has the same ability to get married, regardless of their partner's sex.
Really, most homosexuals would love to NOT get married. They don't want it because they like god or something, but because it's a very important legal tie.
