    Torrent of Flame: Download it, save it, then go to the Tools -> Downloads and run it.

    Easy as that.

    IE == vulnerabilities.

    Your "bid defender" is one of the worst anti-viruses available.

    Seriously ^.^

    Norton == ftl.

    It's more of a virus than the viruses it protects you from.

    Eh, that's not that great either. AVG is the way to go. Even the free version is more or less better than McAfee.

    Check out av-comparatives.org's newest report (read both):
    http://av-comparatives.org/seiten/er...e/report19.pdf
    http://av-comparatives.org/seiten/er...e/report20.pdf

    Things are a bit different now.

    Er, no. In the more recent one McAfee came in 15th out of 16th. However, Kapersky ranked 6th, and Norton ranked 3rd.

    FTW.

    Also, the reason Firefox forces you to save first is so your AV can check it (mainly for the ones that scan files as they get accessed). It also takes a second or so to scan it (not sure if that's its own scanner or trying to call your own scanner).

    But yeah, around twice a year I download the newest Kaspersky trial and run a full scan, that keeps me clean

    It calls whatever scanner you have installed. Or at least it tries to.

    And Norton is complete junk! >_<

    Trust me on this, I know.
    I agree on this. I tried and tried to get a script to work properly and followed all the guides really carefully (I'm new to SCAR) and couldn't figure out what the problem was. I just tried Firefox to load RS and everything was fine, YAY!

    Just change your Windows Updates settings to "Download, but let me choose when to install"; then when you can has updates, the tray icon will balloon() to you to install them. If you're busy, you can simply close it.
