Default 3D modelling - Career advice.

Hey guys bit of a long winded post here but Im not sure where else I could post it and seeing as there are a bunch of knowledgeable folks here I thought I might as well go for it.

Im picking my subjects in school soon and I have been told to think about some careers for when im older, just something i'd like to do and and a couple of these things are creating the graphics for 3D games such as WoW or Runescape I wouldn't mind what kind of modelling be it enviroment or character models. But I have no experience at all in doing this kind of thing, I just have a gut feeling that I'd really like to do it.

So, to get to the point could anyone push me in the right direction tell me where to start for this kind of thing or just generally give me some advice and help me out.

    Thanks in advance.

You could also try Maya 2008/9 or 3DsMax.
Since those are more professional you'd get better since most big time companies use them too.

Yes, Maya is the dogs, its hard including the special effects as it lags up alot of your system. Also try one of Microsoft's (can't remember the name sorry).

    Good Luck
