Default Left 4 Dead splitscreen with Wiimotes.

Last night I was connecting a couple of Wiimotes to my PC. I can control my PC with them but haven't quite managed to get them working in Left 4 Dead. I can move around using the nunchuck, or look around using the infra-red motion bar (well I'm actually using a candle but it works fine) but I can't do both of them together atm lol. I can aim but not walk, or walk but not aim.

Anyway if anyone else is interested in doing this then here is a link to the guide:
    http://ryantani.com/2009/01/10/two-d...-two-wiimotes/

To use the infra-red bar with the Wiimotes when they are connected to your pc just put the motion bar ontop of your monitor and plug it into the wii and power on the wii. It DOES NOT need to be connected to your computer.

Alternatively you can just do what I am doing and light a tealight candle and place it on your desk infront of your monitor and the Wiimote will detect that as the motion bar. Pretty crazy eh? I suppose that flames give out Infra-Red light. Anyway let me know how you get on if you try it.

I'll post an update when I get further but atm I've been busy with schoolwork and programming for a project I'm working on so its hard to find free time to work on this.

There's a bit of a problem with using a wiimote to play computer games. A mouse tells how much to move your cursor, whereas a wiimote tells where to move your cursor. So even if you get it to work, it wouldn't really work well for real PC gaming. It's fun to play around with though.

The Wiimote works in two ways.

    1. Using the inbuilt motion sensor, if you tilt the controller to the right then the cursor will move to the right at a constant speed (dependant upon how much you tilt the controller). This is similar to an analogue stick on an Xbox or PS3 controller.

    2. Using the motion bar the Wiimote detects 'where' you are pointing. This is similar to arcade style laser guns.

So it is possible to use it for FPS games, but combining the two is pretty tricky and nothing can beat the precision of a mouse
