    Click "Appeal Offense"
    It tries to go to

    Good job Jagex.

Uhm, no, it is HTML they are using for the text and URL on the page. Don't act like a smartass if you don't know what you're talking about.

You see that extension? Do you honestly, for even a second, believe that Jagex pages rely on HTML?

They don't. It's server sided scripting that uses HTML to dish it out. If there's a broken link such as the one that was quoted, that is because they moved or removed a page without updating their database. The chance that the link is hardcoded: 1%, chance that it is dynamically pulled from their database: 99%.

It is still using HTML on the client-side to parse out the links, etc, and that is what I am talking about.

Why wouldn't they hardcode the HTML link? They probably use ASP (since as far as I know they use Windows servers for everything) and it would be silly and a waste of CPU to pull the same link from the database over and over.

Saying that they fail at HTML means that your saying they hardcoded the HTML for the link. That, likely, isn't the case...

Yeah, cutting clips of words doesn't substantiate a "point".

Because they are an IT company that has a massive database infrastructure?

Seriously, their databases contain all the information for every aspect of our characters - which is polled on a constant basis in the millions as we play RuneScape. Do you honestly think polling some links from a sections of their DB would have any effect on performance...?

The reason why to make links dynamic are many- If you ever want to change the page or anything about it, there is an interface to do so nice and easily. Also, that way several if not thousands of employees can have access to making such simple corrections without having to have access to Jagex's file system.
