i don't see how anything that you said, has anything to do with getting rid of the junior members.

@Richard - i really don't see how it makes much of a difference. There haven't always been junior members. And the difference between before there were, and after doesn't make any difference as far as i can tell. If people really want to leech, then they'll leach regardless of a ridiculously easy requirement. If anything that rank is turning people away, people that could have ended up being great contributors to the community. Though from the way you worded your previous statement, you haven't even read my above post, so i don't see why I'm trying to convince you.

It doesn't, it simply means they would have to earn the right to be where they are, not get rid of them.
If we are going to keep scar and autoing alive we will, as we always have; need more help than ever. Why would I want to get RID of anyone?

Personally, I think it's spamming over leeching that is the real problem.

Leeching isn't as bad as spamming...

I've seen people spam things like this:

    I'll check it out.
Then, 15 seconds later they double post by saying:
    Nice script! Ran perfectly!
And guess what. That second post was his 10th post.

Tell me that isn't because he knew the limit was 10 posts.

Get rid of the 10 post limit, get rid of spammers.

I've noticed that the majority, around 90% of spams posts are users who aren't yet Jnr Member

Exactly. Because they know they have to get 10 posts, but they think that doing it fast will get them scripts faster.

basically, that equates to deleting the junior member rank (other than the 10 day wait, which doesnt do anything)

I agree with taking out the jr member rank all together. To learn enough to pass the quiz and all that, it would take like 5 minutes. Then you get jr members. The only new thing that comes with the jr member rank is that the scripts! So, once they pass the quiz, most people will just leach the scripts anyways. But, earlier I did say I supported the idea of taking out the 10 posts. Spam is annoying, and I can say that I DO report it.

even though I am not a junior member yet I kinda agree that most of the 10 posts come from spam because people want to get it quickly. i kinda like the idea of a quiz and the waiting time period because the longer you wait the more acquainted you get with the site and the more you learn about scar like when i started this about 2-3wks ago i had no clue how to use scar but now autoing is really easy so we should take a quiz and have a time waiting period

Well I think this is a good Idea, but maybe instead of increasing the number of posts or days, each member should send a review on how juch they know of scar and etc like N C D S said.

Also there should be diffrent type of requierments, like if they can create a good thread about a perticular subjetc, one that not evryone would have to limit copying.

I agree. I am getting tired of people leeching scripts and not posting any progress reports. Or leeching the scripts and claiming as its their own.

from my understanding from reading the post's is that you want to up the waiting time to become junior member im up for that just shows dedication also i know you have to wait 1 week till junior but people have to be doing thing's like registering posting 10 useless comment's then just leaving the site for one week maybe you should for all registered user's check there activity for that week to make sure that they just didnt logg in the day they registered then waited a week to start leeching off other people

as for the test im up for it been studying all the tutorial's from everyone hopeing to try to script someday soon

well that's my peice hope to become a scripter soon

People not posting problems usually means that there arent any problems, so they dont need any further assistance, and therefor, its not a problem.

You're always gonna have people that claim scripts as their own whether or not you raise the requirements.

Having a test is just a stupid idea. Firstly, the purpose of this forum is not solely for SRL scripting. Secondly, making it would be very annoying, and making it not cheat proof, dynamic, and automatic, would be even more so. Thirdly, before someone posts about this, or in agreement to this, would you mind just reading my first post, then if you still disagree tell me why. Cuz it seems that people are very short sighted and have no idea what they're talking about.

I believe that Registered User spam could be combated by adding a 1 week wait time to the current 1 week every time they are infracted for spamming. Then if they just give 10 spam posts they will have those deleted and will have to wait for 2.5 months...

that might kinda work if there was word to go around, but since these people are new, they're not gonna be able to spread the word like "Wow! _____ got banned? What for? Oh! its for spamming his first 10 posts, i'd better not do that".

If they don't want to wait, then they are leechers and we don't really want them here anyways (shouldn't speak for everyone, but that's my opinion).

Raise the time requirement to 2-3 weeks and remove the ten post requirement? Would cut down the impatient people who just want scripts, and most likely spam as well.

I kind of see what you are saying, but my idea wasn't to ban them it was to just add more time to their wait. The could receive a message stating that they now have gained 1 week of wait time for spam posting. Then they won't do it again because it directly affects them.

There would also be a starting warning that tells you the consequences of spamming.

You'd be surprised how many "warning" posts on multiple forums that give the consequences of spam ^.^ They have like 6k+ posts of spam like, "Ok, I won't".

hmm...indeed? that looks fairer. I still disagree with even having the junior member rank, but if there has to be one, that seems like a better solution.
