    So you can reinstall it using a program that will give you to not writeable disk image on your usb and the launchpad can we crack this code to run any program we want?

    I think it is possible but how?

    U3 is a program that comes preinstalled on many USB drives. My question is: Why the hell would you want to reinstall it?

    I don't know if it's possible to run a program automatically as soon as you plug the stick in, because that could easily be exploited by people who want harm.

    This is completely ontopic... just don't kick me for direct directions..

    This will make u3 a hacking device...

    This will help stop u3 hacking...

    I know you already got help... but here is a little more..
    On vacation in NeverLand,
    Code:
    typedef int bool;
    enum { false, true };

    On U3? Doesn't it have an option if you right click the thing to start on insertion?

    If you click that option, it should start up when U3 opens. I think that's what you are asking?

    Forget U3, just edit/create autorun.inf

    There are guides about how to make it execute a certain program. The file is read every time a drive, cd, dvd, etc are mounted in Windows.

    Here's an example autorun.inf:
    Code:
    [Autorun]
    open=NameOfExecutable.exe
    action=Run Executable
    shell\exec=Run Executable
    shell\exec\command=NameOfExecutable.exe
    shell=exec
    Don't trust me though -- I don't have a handy windows install around, so you'll have to mess around with it, and read online.

    Hope this helped somewhat. Remember, every computer might have different autorun policies, so you can't be guaranteed it'll auto run it all the time. There are other methods online to hack that though

    The point about the USB and autorun.inf's is that Windows does not execute them without user interaction.
