Default Implementing an IP changer into SRL

I think that there should be a program like SMART (Or even built into SMART) that temporarily changes your IP address after a certain amount of time. The program would change your IP address every time you switch player, so as to make it seem like you were

    Pro's:
    * Would allow you to run scripts 24/7 on multiple players
    * You have a less chance of being banned
    * You would never run the risk of having your IP address banned

    Con's:
    * It would be pretty hard to make (Unless Freddy1990 gets involved, in which case it would probably take two hours )

I got my idea from this:
    http://www.amplusnet.com/invisiblebr...e-browsing.htm
Which is a program that changes your IP address temporarily, though It didn't work with Runescape for some reason o.O

Anyways, I hope this could be put to use sometime soon, it would be extremely useful to everyone at SRL.

    1. Runscape does not ban via ip. They just ban the account. 80% of runescape players do not know how to change/spoof their ip so if they ban via ip, they lose potential members=$$$
    2. That does not reduce chance of getting banned. It will actually increase your change because you will just get banned for account sharing when jagex see's your ip is hundreds of miles away.
    3. I think jagex is smart enough to understand that no one can play runescape legit 24/7

But you can play RS via a proxy. You just need to make a secure tunnel with a SOCKS 5 proxy.

    1. I know they don't ban via ip. All this program would do is make it look like your different accounts are playing on different ip addresses.

    2. You would set a certain ip address for each specific account, I'm not proposing that you use different ip addresses from all across the world on one account lol.

    3. Again, my idea was to have the ip change only when the script switches players. Changing the ip constantly on one account would not only eliminate the purpose of an ip changer, but it would probably get you banned even faster

Does changing your IP not take meddling in the cmd > ipconfig stuffs? .bat's even.

I think yakman told me it was possible with tor - but I didn't try it out yet.

    this is a good idea,
just seen this. dono how real it is... and jagex do claim they can ip bann.

    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=592962

also you can then appeal the ban (if you get banned) from your normal ip and say some one has accsess to the account. different ip's.
    Did someone say GDK?

Those do not work with most modern ISPs... most modern ISPs assign your IP by your router's and modem's MAC address, which you need to do more than a simple .bat script to change.

That is fake of course. You can't ban by an IP to make it "not load" like that. If you ban an IP, it will say "HTTP 403 FORBIDDEN". My guess is that he either set RS's IP address in his Windows' host file so it will stop the connection when it is attempted to be loaded, just so people will go "lolol dats kewl"

I think everyone would love this. However it would be a little suspicious if your ip was to change every time you ran a script. It would be nice if you could just input your own wanted ip mask and it would use it. if for instance you wanted to run two accounts this would be basically necessary.

this would work well as it would seem like different players were just playing in different places. therefore you could run scripts 24/7.

^ well, if you set up an army, you could have each account on a different IP, or even 2 accounts on one IP. It wouldn't necessarily let you run it any longer though (and not 24/7 for sure).

I think it would be awesome if it was implemented.

    Now that makes sense, not....

Benland could add this to smart and then you can use some procedure in nextplayer that if you have some Sock 5 proxies you can use them.

    ^^ I love you, too.

I'm just saying that there's really no point. Don't break the rules unless you can handle the punishment. >_>

Reminds me of the time i played diablo 2 *_*.
There proxies were used to overcome the limit of 4 logged in accounts at once.

I mostly used proxifier, which worked like a charm :3....

You could quite easily write a plugin that uses proxifier to change your proxy :3... and proxifier can also proxify smart.

It isn't as simple as changing your ip. It takes a proxy server. Commonly proxy server's arn't free or go down and its just a massive pain. You can't just disquise your ip by adding a couple numbers in a random place. This idea has been around for a very long time and i feel that it is a great idea. However i think that if it was as easy as you seem to think it would be then it would have been put in. Peace Good idea though, i agree.
