One such example of a virus that can shut down your computer is W32.Blaster.Worm. So viruses can really shut down computers. But as others have frequently said and i agree with, it is most likely a fan related issue.

Free software, and works great. Scans and removes. just no real time protection.

What I would do, honestly, is send it to pro's for reparation at like dell or HP instead of asking here as nothing so far has helped.
forgot about this thread for a little bit lol but it must have been a fan isue or something casued it hasnt done it for about 1 day or so now
What? Just like pulling the plug? I doubt it. You most likely had enabled to "restart on crash", so it restarts, instead of being able to display a BSOD. Also, very few people have been able to imitate a computer being turned off like, no power. A simple "shutdown -s" command doesn't fully turn off the hardware![]()
