    NEW THREAD TOPIC:
    My Fail New Computer...

Alright now, straight to it. I purchased the HP Pavilion Dv6z series notebook. Virtually right away, I started to remove the unwanted software on it (hp games, symantec(norton), ebay, microsoft trial stuff, the like). I had not removed ANYTHING necessary to run the machine. By time the next day rolled around, I had received an error warning me of an "immanent hard drive failure." I thought that was pretty serious, so I did what I knew to. I ran the system chkdsk, meaning checked the disk on restart. I defragmented the hard drive after the check was complete. After receiving the error a few more times, I checked the whole hard drive again... I was slightly confused and called support who then sent me a new drive.

I installed the new drive and was up and running. Not wanting Vista on it.. I installed 32 bit XP pro.. super software.. man it was nice... the computer ran fine .. no errors.. nothing.. It was super fast I loved it... so far it has been the happiest time I have spent with my computer.. ..I was online and downloading all the drivers for my laptop when I came across a problem... there is no graphics card driver available for me to download... screwed.. ati/hp both were unable to help me get it... after calling hp ... they told me just put the original configuration on the laptop... not cool..

I used the recovery dvd's to reinstall windows vista 64 bit edition. Out of curiosity I just let the computer sit for about two days running... waited... waited... and I noticed I was loosing about 4-10 G/Bytes of hard drive space a day... ???? I customer supported again and they told me to send the notebook in... I did...

I went on a trip... I came back today and my computer had come in while I was gone.. I opened the box.. and was w00h00ing that the computer was working.. they said "they replicated the problem" and "fixed it".. I was happy... after about 10 min on the computer.. I noticed ... !!! ... they replaced my hard drive... with a different one.!! .... 250GB 5400RPM... I am currently quite a bit frustrated... I don't know whether to throw a fit or just let it go...

You caused the problem by going and uninstalling stuff like crazy, All they did was drop 1800rpm's, not a big deal.

I didn't cause the problem.. in either cases...
1- All I uninstalled was hp games, juno trial, netware trial, norton security, net zero trial, microsoft office trial, and ebay trial
2- I let the drive sit it => I did nothing for two days <= I probably didn't ruin anything??
I had the problem before I uninstalled anything.
I was just saying it gets a little frustrating..
