    Default To all potential Appliances

I'm sure I am not the only member being fed up of people applying for SRL Members without a script worthy of Members status or a script at all. 8 times in the last week is a bit too much, in my opinion.

If you want to apply try to read through some of the many posts made about Script requirements, including this very informative thread by Nava2.

If you think that is tl;dr, here is a basic sum up of the content in that thread and many other threads:

    1) Be Respected.
    2) Use good standards in your scripts.
    3) Use efficient code.
    4) Do the basics efficiently! Free DTM's, BMP's, etc. Use right Beginning and ends.
    5) Make your script compile

You ARE allowed to post your script up for critique in Jr Members/First Script forums before applying to get it touched up and effective.

Do NOT post here just to get up your post count, by the way. I don't want posts saying 'Yeah good point' or 'Ok, Ill bear that in mind'.

I don't get why everyone acts like it's such a big deal. Eight appliances in a week. Takes 5 seconds to click on the app, see that it has no script, and click the back button. It took you more time to write this post then the time you wasted on empty apps.

When I joined here (like a day after my join date), I almost applied with an empty app. I just assumed that it was an automated process. In my opinion, it really is just an honest mistake.

All I'm saying is, if giving up less than 60 seconds a week on empty apps is too much for you, then you don't have to vote on applications.

Well said ToF. Agreeing with ToF, I am completely and utterly fed up of seeing applications with no script, saying they just better scripts, from people with pretty much no posts apart from their application.

I'd just like to say that the last application that we got, from a guy with 2 posts (not going to say his name), was thoroughly disturbing. SRL Members who saw the thread will know what I am on about.

    Simple: Apply with a script!

It isn't the point. A lot of people KNOW they need a script to apply, yet they apply anyways. If it says provide a script surely it is quite obvious that they need one? And if not, at least this thread will provide those people who do not know but have not yet applied with the knowledge they need before they apply. And I mean 8 EMPTY threads in a week is a lot.

Modify the application form in Easy Forms and add a hook to check if there is {.include SRL/SRL.scar} or something in the script field.

Don't you guys think that you are just being slightly ridiculous? I'm just saying, most the people that apply with empty apps just wanted scripts, and they do not visit these sections of the forums (just the scripts section, then they decide to apply for more scripts). It's not like we are putting in hours of work a week on empty apps, just 40 seconds.

Just doesn't seem like something that needs complaining about.

JAD, it's not the amount of time it takes us to do what we need to do, it's the fact that when people apply, it clearly says
Show us one or more of your scripts
But people just choose to ignore that. It's irritating.

Well don't reply then. It is very annoying when it is pretty much constant, as it has been lately.

And R1ch, yes, that WAS very disturbing..

Its not too hard just to type "Sorry, you need a functional script to get into members", and report the post so someone can close it before they get flamed. Some people honestly don't realise they need a script to get in, and people yelling at them saying they need one isn't going to make them want to come back, is it?

keep in mind that we have had around 8 in the last week though. I can see how someone could get fed up with people no reading. For the last week I have seen one app that wasnt either stolen or had nothing in it.

If you're sick of it, why bother voting at all? This thread is completely pointless IMO. Just report the thread and an admin will close it.

After a few people get their 'OMGX YOU NEED A SCRIPT' post in. It annoys me even more when 4 members feel the need to post exactly the same thing seperately. One person posts, no one else has to.

Ontopic: Nah, I was fed up with it earlier, that's why I don't take a look in /Appliances often anymore.

Agreed, People applying without a script should be blocked from reapplying for a few months... It's not simply that they are unbelieveable irritating, it also shows quite a lack of respect torwards the srl membership...

Thats taking it a bit too far. After that one appliance, they will then learn that they need a script, and when they next apply it will have a script, and if they don't, report the thread and someone will close it.

Not sure what's so irritating about it...

That's the only thing that really bugs me, when more than 1 member posts to say that you need a script to get in, only one post needed.

    No to this whole thread.

People new to here don't always get it right. Setting up a harsh and aggressive tone isn't what encourages them to become contributing members of the community. Build bridges, not walls.
By reading this signature you agree that mixster is superior to you in each and every way except the bad ways but including the really bad ways.

Like I said above, I seriously filled out a whole application and was about to apply, but decided to wait a little bit (this was like 2 days after I joined). If I had gotten flamed, I probably would have just left.

If it is going to bother you THAT much (which I think you guys are reallly trying to hard to find something to complain about on this great and extremely spam free forum), do what quickmarch does and stop voting. Simple as that.
