if u need the inventory space, then u could take colors of them.

take a small bitmap of them...it would be more reliable then a single color because it may show up in other items or palces on the screen

or even a dtm of the black outline
so i should make a mask? I agree that colours are unreliable.

Masks are 100% reliable, but also small bitmps (4*4) or (8*8), as long as you dont grab the inventory background...

Im gunna go with masks. Are there any tutorials on mask making?.....I've never really managed to make a good mask....
